Delhi’s IGI Airport Terminal 2 to open from Saturday!

It’s a good news for passenger commuting form Indira Gandhi International Airport. The DIAL (Delhi International Airport Limited), a consortium led by GMR, has said in a report that, the function of Terminal 2 will be starting on Saturday.

‘The first flight that would be landing in the newly opened Terminal 2 will be flight G8-148 from Ranchi at 10:35 pm on Saturday, while the first flight to take off would be G8-207 leaving to Lucknow at 5:25 am on Sunday. Both these flights belong to GoAir. The airline company which has been currently operating from T1 is moving to the newly constructedT2,’ said a spokesperson for DIAL.

IGI Terminal 2 was ready in January 2017 itself. With no airline opting to start its services from T2, it was not functioning. With GoAir starting its services from T2, DIAL is expecting that other airlines like Spicejet, Indigo and other will follow.

The T2 terminal is located at a distance of 500 meters from the Metro Station and Terminal 3. Its location makes it easily accessible from both T1 and T3.

The new terminal has four entry point, two exit points and 74 check counters, keeping future passenger increase in mind. The time at the security check is also expected to come down given the availability of 9 X-Ray machines.
