Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is gearing up to entertain audiences with Irumudi, an emotional family thriller directed by Shiva Nirvana. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the female lead, while Baby Nakshatra will be seen as Ravi Teja’s daughter. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on August 21.
At the trailer launch event held in Bhimavaram, director Shiva Nirvana explained the reasoning behind the intriguing title Irumudi. According to him, the title connects with multiple layers of the story.
“There are three layers in the film. The bond between a father and son is one. Irumudi, meaning two knots, represents that relationship. The bond between Lord Ayyappa and his devotees is another layer, as Irumudi is an important part of their journey. There is also a crime angle involving multiple knots. That is why we felt Irumudi was the right title,” the director explained.
Shiva Nirvana also addressed speculation that the film is a remake. He revealed that he deliberately waited for the right occasion and content to clarify the matter.
“Some people wrote that this film is a remake, but I wanted to give clarity at the right time and with the right content. That is why I waited for this day,” he said.
The filmmaker concluded by stating that Irumudi will bring a rawness rarely seen in Telugu family dramas, adding another layer of curiosity ahead of its theatrical release.
