This year, Kajal came up with Sita and Ranarangam and both the films ended up as disasters at the box office. Though her Tamil film Comali garnered success, it didn’t help Kajal in any which way. Barring Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 and Hindi film Mumbai Saga, Kajal has no other films in hand.
Kajal will be seen alongside John Abraham in Mumbai Saga, which is being directed by Sanjay Gupta. According to the sources, she is being paid merely Rs. 50 lakhs as remuneration for this film. Until two years back, she used to get paid Rs. 1.5 crores per film in Telugu. This proves the decline of Kajal’s stardom in films. She is currently in the worst phase of her career and only a big hit will now save her from being faded out in a few years.
