‘Jai Simha’ Pre-release business

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 102nd film, ‘Jai Simha’ is slated to hit the theatres on 12th January. The film is directed by KS Ravikumar, who directed Rajinikanth in Linga, Narasimha and other movies in the past. Film’s producer C Kalyan expressed, the film’s budget has gone overboard, once the movie went onto the sets. The film’s budget is estimated to be around Rs.26 crores. The whole of tinsel town gossiped that the buyers are backing off from buying the movie rights after Balakrishna’s Paisa Vasool bombed at the box office.
After the film’s trailer was released, it not only impressed Balakrishna fans but also brought the buyers on to the screen. The film’s theatrical rights were reportedly sold for Rs. 23 crores, satellite rights for Rs. 3.5 crores and overseas rights for Rs. 1 crore. Overall, Jai Simha pre-release business has crossed Rs. 27.5 crores.
Balakrishna’s previous film, Paisa Vasool managed to collect Rs. 19 crores against Rs. 32 crores as theatrical rights. Gautamiputra Satakarni collected Rs. 53+ crores against Rs. 46 crores.
With Agnyaathavaasi taking a back seat in the Telugu states, Balakrishna starrer can have good to excellent openings. Balayya’s fan base, high octane action episodes and typical Balakrishna style dialogues should be enough to get back the ROI – Return on Investment for the film, promising that the director KS Ravikumar did not mess up with the story. The film’s target is the regular family audience, and the upcoming festive season is a bliss for the makers.
