Kannappa Makes Its OTT Debut on Prime Video
Vishnu Manchu’s much-anticipated dream project, the devotional epic Kannappa, has finally arrived on OTT. Nearly 10 weeks after its theatrical release, the film is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
While Prime Video usually drops new titles at midnight IST, Kannappa didn’t premiere at the expected time, sparking speculation about a delay. However, the platform officially confirmed a few minutes ago that the film is now available to stream in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. As of now, there is no update on a Hindi version.
The film boasts a star-studded cast: Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, Kajal Aggarwal as Goddess Parvati, with Prabhas and Mohanlal making special appearances. The ensemble also includes Mohan Babu, Priety Mukhundan, Sarathkumar, Madhubala, Mukesh Rishi, and several others.
Produced by Mohan Babu, Kannappa features music composed by Stephen Devassy. How the devotional entertainer resonates with home audiences on OTT remains to be seen.
