The Hollywood sci-fi comedy Lilo & Stitch has finally arrived on OTT in India. Jio Hotstar has begun streaming the billion-dollar global blockbuster in multiple languages.
In its premiere announcement, the platform listed English, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada. However, to everyone’s surprise, the Telugu version—initially missing—showed up when the film went live. Jio Hotstar even rolled out an official poster to confirm its availability, seemingly to avoid upsetting its Telugu subscriber base.
The real twist, though, is that the promised Kannada version didn’t make it to the platform, leaving Kannada audiences disappointed. It remains to be seen what Jio Hotstar has to say about this unexpected change.
Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the live-action film stars Maia Kealoah in the lead role. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Rideback, Lilo & Stitch was a worldwide box office sensation.
