Superstar Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action spectacle Coolie released worldwide on August 14, 2025, as an Independence Day treat. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film opened to record-breaking numbers before slowing down as word of mouth settled in.
Featuring a star-studded cast including King Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, and Rachita Ram, the movie has been one of the most talked-about releases this year. Adding to the buzz, Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde made impactful cameo appearances.
As per the latest reports, Coolie is gearing up for its digital premiere on Prime Video from September 11, 2025. The platform reportedly acquired the post-theatrical rights for a massive price. Given that the Hindi version had a national chain release, the OTT debut is likely to follow the usual eight-week window after its theatrical run.
An official announcement from Prime Video is still awaited. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, the big-budget entertainer also featured a pulsating soundtrack by Anirudh Ravichander, which has been one of the film’s highlights.
