Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP’s IT Cell, is the subject of an FIR filed by the K’taka Police.
The Karnataka Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Amit Malviya, the BJP IT Cell national Convenor, for allegedly publishing “derogatory” posts about Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders. The FIR was filed at the High Grounds police station in Bengaluru under sections 153-A, 120-B, 505 (2), and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The complaint was lodged by Ramesh Babu, a state Congress leader, who accused Malviya of releasing an animated video of Rahul Gandhi and making false claims about the Congress engaging in anti-national activities..
According to the complaint, Malviya referred to Rahul Gandhi as dangerous and accused him of playing a deceitful game. Malviya also alleged that individuals like Sam P, who are staunchly anti-India, exert influence over Rahul Gandhi and actively defame India overseas to embarrass Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In response to the FIR, Priyank Kharge, a state minister from the Congress party, criticized the BJP and stated that they have a tendency to complain when faced with legal consequences and disregard the law.
Malviya had posted the animated video on June 17 from his official account, claiming that the Congress party engages in anti-national activities and that Rahul Gandhi perpetuates this behavior during his foreign visits. Priyank Kharge, the RDPR and IT and BT minister, announced that they intend to shut down the BJP’s “factory of lies,” strengthen the fact-checking unit, and take strict action against communal and peace-disturbing posts. Kharge further demanded that Malviya either prove the charges against the Congress or apologize and commit to refraining from making such accusations in the future.
In summary, the Karnataka Police have filed an FIR against Amit Malviya, alleging the publication of derogatory posts against Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders. The Congress party has accused Malviya of spreading false information and engaging in anti-national activities.
