Telangana Elections have once again become a major political talking point after BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed different views on when the next Assembly polls will take place.
Addressing a public gathering during a protest, KTR said that Telangana would go to elections in 2028 and expressed confidence that K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) would return as Chief Minister. He also assured the public that the mistakes made before the 2023 elections would not be repeated if the BRS comes back to power.

However, Revanth Reddy has presented a different view. The Chief Minister recently stated that Telangana is likely to go to the polls only in 2029, citing the proposed delimitation exercise by the Central Government. According to him, if the number of Assembly constituencies is increased through delimitation, the state’s election schedule could be aligned with the national timeline.
The contrasting statements from the two leaders have sparked fresh political debate across the state. While KTR remains confident about a 2028 election, Revanth Reddy believes the constitutional and administrative process related to delimitation could delay the polls by a year.
As of now, the Central Government has not officially announced the implementation timeline for the delimitation process. The final election schedule will depend on constitutional procedures and decisions taken by the Election Commission and other relevant authorities.
Until there is official clarity, the timing of the next Telangana Elections is likely to remain a key political issue, with both the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS continuing to present their own expectations.
