Lokesh and Atchannaidu Face Scrutiny Over Alleged Involvement in Scandal: Roja
The ongoing legal investigation into the skill development corporation scam has taken a new turn, as Tourism Minister R.K. Roja has hinted at the potential arrest of additional Telugu Desam Party (TD) leaders in connection with the case. Roja has indicated that the focus of the investigation has now shifted to Nara Lokesh, the son of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, and the party’s state president, Atchannaidu.
During a media conference held on Monday, the minister mentioned that the allegations surrounding Lokesh and Atchannaidu’s involvement in the alleged misappropriation of funds could lead to their imminent arrests.
She revealed that after a rigorous two-and-a-half-year investigation, agencies have unearthed evidence suggesting that Naidu, Lokesh, and Atchannaidu may have been involved in misappropriating a substantial sum of Rs 241 crore. “Lokesh and Atchannaidu, who are central figures in this case, should also face arrest and further investigation,” she stressed.
Roja emphasized that the scam was not an isolated instance of corruption and irregularities associated with Naidu.”She Identifies Numerous Alleged Scandals Tied to TD Chief, Including Fiber Grid Project, Patti Seema, Polavaram, Amaravati Land, and Amaravati Inner Ring Road” .”As soon as evidence is found, they will continue to be arrested. “This is Only the Beginning, Not the End,” Says Roja Regarding Ongoing Investigations.
Roja expressed her disapproval of the reactions from TD leaders and social media, highlighting that their rhetoric remained consistent even after Naidu’s arrest. She drew parallels with how the media portrayed Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during his legal challenges, stating, “For 12 years, they labeled him as Jail Reddy; now we can similarly refer to Naidu as Jail Chaudhary.” Challenging Naidu and his supporters, Roja stated, “If those who have made mistakes have such audacity, imagine the courage we should have while following a leader who has not made any mistakes.”
Furthermore, she proposed, “Let Naidu provide a letter confirming his lack of involvement in the skill development corporation scam. We will present it to the cabinet for approval and forward it to the Centre to initiate investigations by the CBI and ED.”
