The Larsen & Tourbo (L&T) Company which undertook the construction of the prestigious Hyderabad Metro Rail project has cheated the people of Hyderabad and the Telangana State Government too. The company has hiked the metro charges by 150% – 300%. The minimum fare was initially stated as Rs.8 while the maximum was capped at Rs. 19.
But the company fixed the minimum fare to be Rs. 10 while the max is capped at Rs. 60. Depending on the distance, the fare chart has been divided into 10 slabs, 4 slabs more than the initial assessment of 6 slabs. Interestingly, no political leader is speaking about the drastic increase in fare.
The ‘Metro Smart Card’ is available in the Nagole, Tarnaka, Prakash Nagar, SR Nagar Metro stations from 10 am – 5 pm today. The base price of the smart card is Rs. 200 and comes with Rs. 100 value. A commuter can load up to a maximum of Rs. 2000.
The Metro Train will be available for public use from 6 am on 29th November 2017.
