Malayalam Film ‘Villain’ creates a new record! Collects 4.91 Cr on Day 1!

Malayalam superstar, Mohan Lal has played an important and crucial role in the film ‘Villain’. The film is written and directed by B. Unni Krishnan. ‘Villain’ released on 27th October 2017. The film had its release on 253 screens in Kerala and collected a whopping Rs. 4.91 crores. Tamil star hero Vishal, and heroines Hansika and Rashi Khanna are also the part of the cast of this film. ‘Villain’ marks the entry of these three actors into Malayalam Film Industry.

The film did create a record in all aspects. It is the first time a film had such a huge release all over Kerala and the opening day collections are the highest for any film so far in Kerala. The film is produced by Rockline Venkatesh on his Rockline Entertainments Pvt. Ltd banner. The film’s music is composed by Sushin Syam.

Telugu star hero Srikanth, along with Manju Warrier, ‘The Lady Superstar’ of Malayalam film industry played crucial roles in the film. The film is known to be a crime-thriller with Mohan Lal playing the role of ADGP (Assistant Director General of Police).

‘Villain’ is the first film in India to be shot completely and released in 8K resolution. The film’s Overseas, Hindi dubbing and satellite rights were sold for 2 Crores, 3.5 Crores and 7 Crores respectively, making the highest ever for a Malayalam film. The film is expected to release on 2nd November in overseas.
