Anurag Kashyap’s much-awaited movie, Manmarziyaan’s official trailer dropped in earlier this morning. Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu, Manmarziyaan is a quintessential Bollywood love story revolving around a complicated love triangle involving Vicky (Vicky Kaushal), Romy (Tapsee Pannu), and Robbie (Abhishek Bachchan).
The trailer opens with the two young lovers Vicky and Romy talking, walking, riding, and dancing madly in love. Vicky Kaushal seems to be nailing the role of a tough Punjabi Munda whereas Tapsee Pannu suits perfectly as the blunt Punjabi Kudi. Abhishek Bachchan fits well in the role of Robbie. He appears to play the character of an innocent and shy sardarji well enough. With a run-time of 3 minutes and 5 seconds, the trailer indicates that the movie is packed with comedy and madness, love and drama, emotions and choices.
Vicky and Romy are in love with each other; however, Vicky is scared to commit to Romy, who then decides to marry another guy of her parents’ choice. Robbie enters the scene as Romy’s groom-to-be. His entry in Romy’s life complicates things for each of the three characters. Romy is married to Robbie, but she cannot forget her ex-lover, who tries to interrupt her marriage. A series of actions follow after her marriage which messes up their lives.
The movie, with its trailer’s official synopsis, “This September, do what your heart wants,” is set to release on September 14. It seems promising enough given the roller-coaster ride of emotions it is aiming to provide to the audience. The trailer also has an apt tagline that depicts how human beings complicate matters as simple as love: “Love isn’t complicated, people are.”
