The film’s budget is based on the star cast remuneration, sets, and CGI. While the first 3-days collections and reviews on the film dictate its box office collections. Low-budget films are usually postponed if a star-studded film is releasing. The producers of low-budget films release their films after a 2-week gap after the star-studded film release date.

Fukrey Returns (or Fukrey 2), a sequel to super hit film Fukrey was initially slated to release on 8th of December. But the film was later postponed after Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced that ‘Padmavathi’ would release on 1st of December.

With the postponing of Padmavathi, things have changed. Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment said, ‘the film is being preponed to its original date, 8th of December. We had to postpone the film after it was announced that Padmavathi would release on 1st December. We needed a 2-week gap. With Padmavathi being postponed, we shifted our movie release date back to its original, 8th of December’.

Along with ‘Fukrey Returns’, many other films that were slated to release in early2018 are being rushed for release in December. The postponement of one film has been responsible for the release of many films.
