Meet Million Dollar Telugu Heroes In Tollywood

Long gone are those days where movies used to run for over 50 days in most of the theatres. If the movie is backed by a good story, and star cast, it often used to run more than 100 days. There are instances in the past where few Telugu films ran over a year in a theatre. With times, things have completely changed.
Currently, if a movie holds its place in a given theatre for over 4 weeks, it is declared as a hit. If it crosses 6th week, it is bound to become a blockbuster hit. This is the current situation of a Telugu cinema. The revenue has moved from ticket sales to digital rights, overseas distribution, audio launch rights, and various other rights.
Overseas market has turned out to be a key region for revenue. 3 heroes from Tollywood has managed to reach the new benchmark of 3-million dollar in the US. While Ram Charan achieved that feat through ‘Rangasthalam’, Mahesh Babu lived that dream through his latest film, ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’.
Apart from these two heroes, SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali has reached actually set that benchmark. According to trade analysts, Baahubali – The Conclusion collected a whopping Rs 133 crores in the US alone, while Baahubali – The beginning has collected Rs 45 crores. Similarly, Rajinikanth’s Kabali collected Rs 27 crores in the US.
