Malayalam action thriller Thudakkam is set to make its digital debut after completing its theatrical run. The film has been in the spotlight for introducing Vismaya Mohanlal, daughter of superstar Mohanlal, as a lead performer on the big screen. It also features Aashish Joe Antony in a prominent antagonist role, while Mohanlal makes a much-discussed appearance.
The makers have now announced the OTT release date. Thudakkam will begin streaming globally on JioHotstar from September 18. The film will be available in Malayalam, along with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, giving it an opportunity to reach a broader audience across India.
Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, Thudakkam is a survival-oriented action thriller built around intense combat sequences. One of the film’s major highlights is Vismaya’s action performance, with the actress bringing her real-life Muay Thai training into several of the film’s sequences.
Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, the story revolves around a martial artist who finds herself caught in a dangerous battle while trying to protect two young girls from a ruthless criminal syndicate. The film combines survival drama with hand-to-hand action, keeping the narrative grounded and intense.
After its theatrical journey, Thudakkam is now preparing for its digital release on September 18. With its multilingual availability on JioHotstar, the film is expected to reach a much wider pan-Indian audience.
