The latest release “Tiger Nageshwara Rao” has a budget of over Rs 55 crores, as director Vamsee wanted to shoot spectacular action sequences in addition to erecting sets and hundreds of VFX shots to get the right look for his period drama. Action hero RaviTeja, who is producing films these days, intended to join as a partner in this project.

According to a source, “RaviTeja wanted to be a partner in his next big-budget flick Tiger Nageshwara Rao since he didn’t want to compromise and also he liked the story very much,” following his collaboration with producer Abhishek Nama on “Ravanasura.”

However, as the movie went on, RaviTeja abandoned his idea because he came to trust producer Abhishek Agrawal, whose family was meticulously monitoring the production costs and even counted nails before building sets. “Abhishek’s family was quite tough on the sets, questioning technicians about superfluous expenses and making sure there was cost reduction because if they hadn’t, things would have gone crazy.

Naturally, some employees were a little irritated by the intense observation, but the producer nonetheless kept a close check on spending and waste,” he continues.

After the movie came out, though, the narrative changed and the public was unable to relate to the tale of the thief who became the messiah. Even though it was published during the Dasara holidays, its collections ultimately started to decline, and it finally proved to be a failure.
