TV actor Nishant Singh Malkani’s cosmic link with the film ‘Tamasha’

Telly star Nishant Singh Malkani says he relates to the character of Ved, played by Ranbir Kapoor, in the Imtiaz Ali-directorial, Tamasha, on a cosmic level.

Nishant has been busy shooting for “Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega”, but has shared that he loves watching films whenever possible.

In fact, he feels that watching films helps him learn and better his craft. Furthermore, he revealed that “Tamasha” has impacted him a lot and has influenced his taste in cinema.

He even feels that his life is very similar to that of Ved in “Tamasha”.

“A movie that has influenced my taste in cinema has to be Imtiaz Ali sir’s ‘Tamasha’. I hold that movie very close to my heart, more so due to the striking similarities I share with the protagonist Ved. Just like Ved, I come from a smalltown family and my parents used to emphasize the importance that numbers, percentages, and academics hold in life and how they will singlehandedly ascertain the quality of life we all get to live in the future. This was certainly the biggest pressure I have lived with throughout my childhood,” he said.

“While I do not blame my parents for sharing their outlook, there is no denying the fact that there are some children who look at the world and everything around them through colored glass and their creativity overpowers the logical approach to life,” he added.

While growing up, Nishant had arguments with his parents who tried to guide him towards a more logical and practical way of life. These small quarrels used to leave him frustrated and he would find solace by watching movies and celebrating creativity and art.

“Back in school, when I did not score as well as my neighbor’s child or my friends, I felt useless and kind of a loser of sorts, which was a real bummer. I grew to despise it and got somewhat frustrated. But that is exactly what made me realize that I wasn’t built to do well in academics and something bigger and better was waiting for me out there,” said the actor.

“It is in fact a coincidence that I got a chance to act and I enjoyed the whole process of learning how to act. I practically discovered and accepted myself through this process and got in touch with my real emotions. Like Imtiaz Sir’s Ved, I realized quite late in my life that I was always meant to be an actor, and a door practically opened up for me to flourish and be out there in the world. I truly relate with the whole journey of Imtiaz Ali’s Ved on a cosmic level,” he added.

Sushant was murdered: Subramanian Swamy gives his reasons

BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy strongly feels that actor Sushant Singh Rajput was “murdered”.

Swamy took to Twitter on Thursday and posted a document to support his claim.

“Why I think Sushanth Singh Rajput was murdered,” Swamy tweeted along with a photograph of the document that has 26 points.

According to the document, the mark on Sushant’s neck did not indicate suicide but instead hinted at homicide.

The document further claims that for suicide by hanging, one has to hang himself by removing the table under his feet. “This huge force is not possible in homicidal strangulation,” read the document.

The document further reads that marks on his body indicate “beating”.

This comes a day after Swamy spoke to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said that he will initiate a CBI inquiry into the matter.

Sushant was found dead at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14. Post mortem report stated the actor had committed suicide. The police are still investigating the case.

Malaika Arora on sister Amrita: She has been like my own child

Dancing diva Malaika Arora recently got nostalgic about her childhood with sister Amrita.

Reminiscing her childhood days, Malaika shared: “Parents give you direction in life and support you. But our siblings also support us, and that is something we should be happy and proud of.”

Malaika recalled she used to take care of Amrita when their mother was at work.

“From eating to getting her ready to going to school, I would help her do all her work. I still remember Amrita used to go to the washroom in school after taking permission from her teacher on the condition I was present there. She has been like my own child,” said Malaika.

“Now that she has her own kids, she behaves like my older sister, she gives me advice. We share a close and strong bond. We have had our share of days where we would fight, not speak with each other, but she was always the first one to say sorry whether it was her mistake or not,” she added.

Malaika opened up about her bond with her sister during the shoot of Sony Entertainment Television’s show “India’s Best Dancer”.

Ishaan Khatter: I don’t feel too pressurised

Ishaan Khatter is young and raring to go, in a showbiz race laced with tough competition and constant talk of nepotism. But the half-brother of Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor says he never feels too pressurized about anything in life.

The budding actor has an eclectic line-up of work coming up, from Mira Nair’s BBC series “A Suitable Boy” that is based on Vikram Seth’s acclaimed novel of the same name to the Bollywood action drama “Khali Peeli”, and the recently-announced horror-comedy “Phone Bhoot”.

Speaking about pressure, Ishaan told IANS: “Not anymore, I get (a) standard amount of pressure that you have as a leading man in movies. I don’t really perceive it as pressure. For me, it comes along with opportunities and excitement and a platform to express myself. It’s great, but I don’t feel too pressurized.”

For Ishaan, it is about how the audience reacts to him.

“It’s like one of those things — if you leave it all on the floor and you give your work everything then you have nothing to be afraid of. You’re just excited to see how the world will see you,” he added.

“A Suitable Boy” casts Ishaan as Maan Kapoor, the rebellious son of politician Mahesh Kapoor (played by Ram Kapoor). Maan develops an attraction for the beautiful courtesan Saaeda Bai (essayed by Tabu).

“Khaali Peeli” is a romantic action thriller co-starring Ananya Panday. “Phone Bhoot” co-stars Katrina Kaif and Siddhant Chaturvedi and is scheduled for a 2021 release.

Is Rhea Chakraborty missing from her Mumbai residence?

Actress Rhea Chakraborty, the girlfriend of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, is allegedly missing from her residence in the city, according to media reports.

The police have started looking for Rhea after an FIR was filed in Patna by Sushant’s father against the actress, who has earlier confessed to being the late actor’s girlfriend.

On Tuesday, a four-member police team from Patna arrived in Mumbai to investigate the claims made in the FIR by the late actor’s father Krishna Kumar Singh.

However, when the Bihar Police team reached Rhea’s residence, they reportedly did not find her there, according to report in timesnownews.com.

Patna’s Rajiv Nagar police station in-charge Yogendra Ravidas on Tuesday earlier said Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh has accused six people, including Chakraborty for abetment to suicide in his complaint (FIR number 241/20).

“Rhea Chakraborty and five other persons have been charged under Sections 340, 341, 380, 406, 420, and 306 of IPC after Sushant Singh Rajput’s father filed an FIR against them. Further investigation is going on in the case,” Sanjay Kumar, IG Patna Central Zone, told reporters in Patna.

As per reports, the actress is possibly planning to file an anticipatory bail against the FIR filed against her by Sushant’s father, and hence she is not coming in contact with the police.

Rhea Chakraborty was dating Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput till the time of his demise. The two were even reportedly planning to tie the knot soon. However, Sushant passed away on June 14. The actor’s postmortem report describes his death as a case of suicide.

Sushant case: Congress, BJP demand CBI probe

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress demanded a CBI probe into the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case on Wednesday, a day after late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, K. K. Singh, filed an FIR at Rajiv Nagar police station here.

BJP spokesman Nikhil Anand said Sushant Singh Rajput was a ‘brilliant’, ‘talented’, and ‘intellectual’ actor. His suspicious death has hurt his fan across the world.

He said, “We support the actor’s family for filing the case, we are with them. All important people from all walks of life have demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.”

He further said, “There should be a CBI investigation in Sushant case, so that ‘Bihar’s son’ can get justice. Bollywood’s mafia, Hawala, anti-national and criminal alliances could come to the fore.”

Meanwhile, Congress has also reiterated the demand for the CBI investigation into the matter. Lalan Kumar, former president of Bihar Pradesh Youth Congress, said on the basis of the FIR filed by Sushan’s father in Rajiv Nagar, it can be said that many ‘secrets’ are hidden in his death. His fans should get answers to these questions.

He said that the investigation of this case should be done by the CBI so that the reality of the case can be revealed to everyone.

Kumar had earlier written to the Governor requesting a CBI inquiry.

Earlier, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) President Chirag Paswan also spoke to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over the phone. Paswan said that the Bihar and Maharashtra Police are seriously investigating the case, but it is better to hand over the investigation to the CBI to solve the suicide scandal.

Sushant had allegedly committed suicide on June 14 at his flat in Mumbai’s Bandra. Sushant’s father has lodged a case in Patna on June 25 against Sushant’s friend Riya and her family under various sections of the IPC.
