Rani Mukerji: Being an actress in film industry is not easy

Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji, who has worked in Bollywood for 25 years now, says it is challenging to be a part of showbiz.

She says her advice to newcomers would be to understand that there are a lot of expectations in this industry.

“My only advice would be that being an actress in the film industry is not easy. It’s a very, very difficult profession to be in, as there are a lot of expectations that the audience has from you once you become an established star. Also, to be able to work in different conditions is not easy,” she says.

“Of course, on-screen it all looks glamorous and easy and nice. It looks serene and beautiful, especially the locations where we shoot at times, but actually working in the industry is very very hard,” she adds.

She urges people to only join the profession only if they are passionate about their craft.

“So, if you are ready to work really hard and you really love the craft of acting then you should be here, not for any other reason because success, glamour, name, and fame come only when the audience loves you. The first and foremost thing is to work sincerely so you gain loyal fans for life,” she says.

The actress will be seen in the upcoming films “Bunty Aur Babli 2” and “Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway”.

The actress adopted the southern white-faced owl named Kering two years ago, reports aceshowbiz.com.

She said: “I gave it (the owl) to my husband as Valentine’s present and named her Kering because that’s the name of his company and their symbol of the owl. And he was like, ‘Well, thank you, but I know this is your own present for yourself.'”

“When my husband is not in town, she sleeps in the room with me. We have certain routines before we go to sleep. I watch TV with my iPad, and she likes to stand on the iPad.”

Hayek also shared that Kering is more “curious” than most owls, and has an unusual but “good” sense of taste.

“Even though owls don’t drink liquids because they take everything from their prey, she likes good wine, this one. (She can often be found) on my head or my shoulder, my arms. Sometimes, when she is really close to me, I can feel her rubbing against me, which is really nice,” Salma said.

She added: “And I feel so blessed. Just being in the same room (with her), there’s an energy to it, and it is mesmerizing.”

Why Adivi Sesh understands Punjabi easily ?

Hyderabad, April 6 (Telugu Bullet)   Telugu actor Adivi Sesh surprises you with his Punjabi accent. The actor further stumps you by saying that, not only the accent, he can actually fully understand the Punjabi language, although he never lived in northern India.

The reason is his move to California from Hyderabad during the formative years, he reveals.

“I grew up in California, San Francisco, and there were no Telugu folks (around). In the 1990s you didn’t find any Telugu folks (in California). All my friends were Gujarati and Punjabi. These guys had come from smaller towns of India and they would struggle with English and I wanted a sense of being an Indian while growing up. It would be a lot of back and forth if I spoke in English and they spoke in Hindi. So, I picked up their accent from them!” the 35-year-old actor tells

He adds on a lighter note: “I do understand Punjabi, by the way. If I see people scolding me in Punjabi, I would easily understand what they are saying.”

The actor will soon be seen in “Major”, which is inspired by the life of 26/11 martyr Sandeep Unnikrishnan. He announced on Monday that besides Telugu and Hindi, the film will also release in Malayalam.

Interestingly, besides acting in the film, he is also the writer of the project. He has earlier scripted his hit films such as “Kshanam”, “Goodachari” and “Kiss”. Does being a writer affect his choices as an actor?

“In the beginning of my career, writing was a compulsion because when we like a story, we want to see ourselves in it on the screen, though I was not getting those kinds of films. I am an outsider in the movies and didn’t know anyone. In many ways, writing became my weapon with which I could go into the battle but ultimately it was in service of my acting career,” says the actor.

He adds: “It does help me when I am hearing a story or watching a film and something feels tonally off or disingenuous. However, I don’t want to be limited to the stories I write because then I will end up doing the same character written by me in every film because. It happens because a certain kind of comfort creeps in. I am ultimately one person and I try not to let the writer in me restrict the actor in me.”

Parul Gulati: I’d be lying if I said I don’t want to be part of Bollywood films

Mumbai, April 6 (Telugu Bullet)  Actress Parul Gulati has been busy in the web series circuit lately, but Bollywood films are surely on her bucket list.

“A lot of projects are being made these days because the web is a medium where we will always need new content. That is why apart from new shows, there are new seasons of successful shows. The web is not biased about few people, rather it is a space where you are hired if you are fit for the work — be it actors, writers, or technicians. That is why the employment rate has also increased,” said Parul.

Parul’s plate has lately been full thanks to the OTT space. “‘Hey Prabhu! 2’ has released. I am working on ‘Your Honor’ season two, and also on a couple of projects I am not officially allowed to talk,” said the actress who is noted for her roles in shows such as “Haq Se”, “Girls Hostel”, “The Raikar Case”, “Illegal” and the TV show “P.O.W.: Bandi Yuddh Ke” among others.

“I am happy but not complacent. I think if I am too comfortable in one space, I will stop growing as an individual, so I want to try my luck in Bollywood films and I want to dance and at the same time be part of meaningful stories. So, I will not say I am so satisfied that I will just be working in web shows. My idea is to stay happy but hungry to grow. I would be lying if I say I do not want to be part of Bollywood movies,” she said.

Everyone in the team is excited to watch the full song, all credit goes to writer Suddala Ashok Teja who gave a new dimension to the folk song of Telangana,” the director shared.

Why ‘Macbeth’ inspired Fahadh Faasil’s new Malayalam film ‘Joji’

Mumbai, April 6 (Telugu Bullet)  The core idea of the upcoming Fahadh Faasil-starrer “Joji” was developed during the lockdown, and director Dileesh Pothan says they were on the lookout for a concept that could be shot in a closed environment.

“During the lockdown, thoughts and discussions about the new movie were very much live. There were regulations all over and we were worried about how long the pandemic will stay and how it will affect the shooting process. We thought about the stories in confined spaces rather than on a vast canvas,” he says.

That was when they thought of basing the film on William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”.

“Thus, theatre plays came into our reference as they use the minimum space for storytelling. I have enacted the banquet scene of Macbeth while studying theatre. I have read many other plays on Macbeth. The idea of Macbeth inspired us a lot. But the plot of Macbeth was vast and it had very little connection with our culture. So, we decided to think of picking the idea, leaving the plot aside and ended up with an independent plot,” he says.

Dileesh, who reunited with award-winning-writer Syam Pushkaran for “Joji”, says that the film takes inspiration from “Macbeth” and is not a complete adaptation.

“Joji is not a complete adaptation of Macbeth. After the plot was formed, we focused on whatever was needed for the development of the plot, without bothering about the structure of Macbeth. It’s an effort to make a movie out of the inspiration we had from Macbeth,” he says.

The crime drama also features Baburaj, Shammi Thilakan, Alistair Alex, and Unnimaya Prasad, Basil Joseph, and Sunny PN. The film will premiere on April 7 on Amazon Prime Video.
