Mirzapur: The Movie Shows Strong Monday Hold, Eyes Blockbuster Status

Mirzapur: The Movie is maintaining a strong momentum at the box office after delivering an impressive opening weekend. Despite the challenge of bringing an OTT-familiar audience back to theatres, the film has managed to turn the popular franchise into a successful theatrical outing.

The film recorded a remarkable hold on its first Monday, collecting around Rs. 17 crore nett in India. While the number is lower than its Rs. 28 crore nett opening day, the Monday performance is particularly impressive because the first-day collections benefited from the Janmashtami holiday. In that context, retaining a double-digit figure on the first working day indicates strong audience interest.

The Monday hold is also reportedly stronger than that of Dhamaal 4, another recent theatrical success. The trend has given the film a major boost as it enters the crucial weekdays.

Adding to the momentum, the makers have introduced discounted ticket prices on Tuesday, which has resulted in a significant surge in advance bookings. The film has already crossed Rs. 114 crore nett in India, and Tuesday is expected to record an even stronger collection than Monday.

The next major test will come on Wednesday. In recent times, some films that benefited from Tuesday ticket discounts have witnessed a sharper drop on Wednesday. If Mirzapur: The Movie manages to maintain a healthy hold despite this factor, the film could comfortably strengthen its position as a superhit and potentially emerge as a blockbuster.

Maremma Gets ‘A’ Certificate Ahead of September 10 Release

Ravi Teja’s nephew Maadhav Bhupathiraju is all set to test his luck on the big screen with his upcoming film Maremma. Directed by Manchala Nagaraj, the rural drama is gearing up for its theatrical release on September 10, 2026.

The film has already managed to attract attention with its recently released trailer. Packed with intense moments and a raw portrayal of rural life, the trailer has created decent curiosity among moviegoers. The makers have now revealed an important update ahead of the release: Maremma has been awarded an ‘A’ certificate by the censor board.

Considering the film’s gritty treatment and hard-hitting content showcased in the promotional material, the adult certification does not come as a major surprise. The makers appear to be presenting the story in an intense and realistic manner rather than opting for a light-hearted rural narrative.

Maadhav Bhupathiraju takes the lead role, while Deepa Balu is the female lead. The supporting cast includes Vikas Vasishta, Vinod Kumar, VS Rupa Lakshmi and Dayanand Reddy, who are expected to play important roles in the story.

Produced by Mayur Reddy Bandaru, Maremma has music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo. With the film scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 10, all eyes are now on how audiences respond to this intense rural drama and Maadhav’s performance.

Anaswara Rajan’s First Look From Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka Creates Positive Buzz

Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan is steadily making her mark in Telugu cinema with a series of interesting projects. After earning attention with her previous outings, the actress has now signed her fourth Telugu film, Antha Ramuloru Chusukuntaru. However, her most significant Telugu project yet is undoubtedly Kaaka, which stars Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role.

Anaswara plays a key character in the film, and on the occasion of her birthday, the makers unveiled her much-awaited first-look poster. She will be seen as Ammulu, an MBBS student and Chiranjeevi’s daughter in the movie.

The first look presents Anaswara in a simple and homely avatar, perfectly complementing the character. Her natural appearance in the poster has already created a positive impression among moviegoers. Interestingly, Chiranjeevi is seen in the background as a silhouette, subtly highlighting the strong connection between his character and Ammulu.

The makers have recently commenced an important shooting schedule in Hyderabad, with the team working on key portions of the film. Given the combination of Chiranjeevi, Bobby Kolli and the talented cast, Kaaka is already generating considerable interest.

Directed by Bobby Kolli, the film is being produced by KVN Productions and is scheduled to hit the screens on January 13, 2027. More details about the cast and storyline are expected to be revealed in the coming days.

Toxic OTT Deal: From Rs. 150 Crore Offer to Rs. 30 Crore Reality?

Yash-starrer ‘Toxic’ has reportedly faced a major setback at the box office, and now the film’s post-theatrical business is said to be facing its own challenges. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the film’s OTT valuation has dropped significantly following its underwhelming theatrical performance.

The report claims that the makers had earlier received an offer of around Rs. 150 crores from a leading streaming platform. However, the team was reportedly seeking more than Rs. 200 crores, expecting the film’s theatrical success to drive up its digital value.

The report further stated that the film’s theatrical performance has had the opposite effect, with digital platforms now reportedly offering as little as Rs. 30 crores for the post-theatrical streaming rights across all languages. According to the same report, ZEE5 has made the highest offer so far.

With the OTT valuation reportedly falling sharply, the makers are said to be considering a new edit specifically for the digital version. The idea is reportedly to improve the film’s reception on streaming platforms and potentially secure a better deal.

‘Toxic’ received largely negative reactions from critics and audiences following its theatrical release. The reported decline in its OTT valuation adds another challenge for the team, making the film’s post-theatrical journey an interesting one to watch.
