Nagarjuna Bets Big on New Director for His Landmark 100th Film
As Akkineni Nagarjuna gears up for his 100th film, he’s not playing it safe. Instead, he’s doubling down on what’s become a signature move—giving the spotlight to fresh talent. The veteran actor, who recently tasted success with Naa Saami Ranga, helmed by debutant Vijay Binni, is once again trusting a new-age storyteller for his centennial milestone.
Enter Ra Karthik
Nagarjuna’s next film will be directed by Ra Karthik, who earned recognition with the critically acclaimed Tamil film Nitham Oru Vaanam. Their collaboration will be a high-octane action entertainer produced by Annapurna Studios, with shooting scheduled to kick off in July 2025.
Known for his willingness to break the mold, Nagarjuna has often prioritized strong narratives and innovative vision over big names. While working with debutant directors carries risk, it has paid off in the past—a gamble that turned Naa Saami Ranga into a festival blockbuster.
A Power-Packed Line-Up
Before this milestone project begins, fans will catch Nagarjuna in Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula, alongside Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna. The political thriller is set for a grand release on June 20, and early buzz suggests a compelling performance from the veteran actor.
With his 100th film now officially in the works and helmed by a fresh vision, Nagarjuna continues to redefine longevity in cinema, not by playing it safe, but by elevating bold choices and new voices.
