New “10” Currency Notes Introduced, In Chocolate Brown Colour

RBI (Reserve Bank of India) is soon going to launch the new Rs.10 denomination notes into circulation. The new ten rupee currency note in the Mahatma Gandhi series will bear the signature of RBI Governor Urjit Patel and also have the picture of the Konark Sun Temple.
The new notes will give a picture of India’s cultural heritage. The base color of the note will be chocolate Brown and these notes will be in 63mm* 123mm dimension. Speculations say that apex bank has already printed up to 1 billion pieces of the new notes.
RBI said the new denomination has the motif of Sun Temple, Konark, on the reverse, showing the country’s rich cultural heritage. The design was approved by the government.
RBI is on a spree of launching the new notes under Mahatma Gandhi series. They introduced the new Rs.200 and Rs.50 under Gandhi series.The main purpose to reintroduce lower denomination notes in a new design is to get rid of forging.
