No one could possible expected a Telugu film to be titled as ‘Oxygen’. But hero Gopichand, who is desperate for commercial success hopes that his film ‘Oxygen’ would truly bring him to life once again. The film is directed by Jyothi Krishna; son of famous producer AM Ratnam. The film’s screenplay was also written by AM Ratnam. The film is produced by S. Aishwarya on Sri Sai Raam Creations. Though the trailer is more or less like a routine commercial entertainer, the title of the film kept everyone guessing about its content.

Story:

The film’s story is about a young man, who leads a happy and picture-perfect life with his family members, his loved one, and his four hilarious friends. An unexpected incident turns his life upside-down. He loses all his dears one in an attack by an unknown ‘enemy’. The young man starts to tracing the man behind this barbaric crime. Unexpected twists and turns welcome him all throughout his journey. Will he be able to trace his enemy? And why is this revenge drama named Oxygen? To know these things, one needs to watch the film on the celluloid.

Analysis:

For a film to be successful it should at least sport one of the following three; new plot, brilliant direction or unique screenplay and narration. Director Jyothi Krishna has excelled in implementing ‘unique screenplay and narration’. The inclusion of bizarre elements in a routine revenge story works in big time. Though the story is plain and routine, the screenplay from AM Ratnam is absolutely terrific. It gives the film a completely different look.

The audience takes the film for granted until the interval. The interval-bang in the movie jolts the audience and leaves them with surprise. The rest of the film is nothing short of a roller coaster ride. The film ‘Oxygen’ will surely breathe oxygen into the lives of Jyothi Krishna and hero Gopichand.

Jyothi Krishna is credited as the story-writer for Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film ‘Sneham Kosam’ that released in 1999. Though he has directed a couple of films in the past, they bombed at the box office. After taking a gap for a long while, the director surely delivered a hit with ‘Oxygen’.

Despite nothing new about Gopichand’s performance, he seemed to perform exceedingly well in scenes in the movie. Jagapathi Babu and Rashi Khanna have done justice to their roles in the film. Anu Immanuel, Vennela Kishore, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Shiyaji Shinde and Abhimanyu Singh are a plus for the film.

The film’s technical department is undoubtedly the pillar of strength. Yuvan’s music and Chota K Naidu’s cinematography are a sure watch out in the film.
