The Tollywood release calendar for December 2026 is becoming increasingly crowded, and this has reportedly raised questions over the release plans of Prabhas’ Fauzi. The film was previously announced for a December 3, 2026 theatrical release, but the latest developments surrounding other big-ticket projects have fueled speculation that the Prabhas starrer could be postponed.
Vishwak Sen’s Legacy is lined up for December 4, while reports suggest that Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma and Dulquer Salmaan’s Sri Sri are also targeting the December 3–4 window. With multiple prominent films competing for the same festive-season audience, there is growing talk that Fauzi could move to a later date.
Adding weight to the speculation is the fact that the film is still progressing under the direction of Hanu Raghavapudi. While there is no official confirmation of a postponement, the Sankranthi 2027 period is reportedly being discussed as a possible alternative.
However, moving Fauzi to Sankranthi could create another scheduling challenge. The festive season already has several notable projects in the pipeline, meaning any change could trigger a reshuffling of release dates across the industry.
Interestingly, Prabhas has previously enjoyed Sankranthi releases with films such as Varsham, Yogi and The Raja Saab. If Fauzi joins the Sankranthi 2027 race, it could make the competition even more intense, with titles such as Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka, Venkatesh’s Vidudala, PVCU’s Mahakaali, Sambarala Yeti Gattu and George Krish also reportedly targeting the festive window.
For now, fans are eagerly waiting for clarity on the film’s release plans. An official announcement from Mythri Movie Makers is expected to provide the much-needed clarity on whether Fauzi will retain its December date or shift to Sankranthi 2027.
The film stars Imanvi as the female lead and marks her debut opposite Prabhas. Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty and Jayaprada are among the other prominent actors in the cast. Vishal Chandrasekhar is composing the music.
With both December 2026 and Sankranthi 2027 shaping up as highly competitive periods, the release decision for Fauzi could have a significant impact on the upcoming Tollywood box-office calendar.
