The much-anticipated Ramayana franchise, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, has generated considerable excitement among movie lovers. While Ramayana: Part One is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 5, 2026, the release plans for its sequel have reportedly undergone a change.
The second instalment was initially announced for a Diwali 2027 release. However, according to an exclusive report by Bollywood Hungama, Ramayana: Part Two may now arrive during Diwali 2028. The reported delay is said to be linked to the film’s ambitious production scale and the additional time required to develop its action sequences.
The report suggests that producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari are aiming to create original, large-scale action set pieces that can make a global impact. Malhotra is reportedly determined to expand the sequel’s scale and realise his vision of presenting an Indian epic to audiences worldwide.
Another factor behind the reported postponement is the story itself. The second part is expected to feature the epic war, which could require extensive filming, elaborate action choreography, and significant post-production work.
According to the report, the makers may announce the sequel’s revised release date during the end credits of Ramayana: Part One. However, the reported postponement has yet to be officially confirmed by the filmmakers.
With enormous expectations surrounding the ambitious adaptation, the team appears focused on delivering a grand cinematic experience. Fans will have to wait for an official announcement to know whether Ramayana: Part Two will indeed arrive during Diwali 2028.
