Intel brings 11th Gen Core chips to Chromebooks

0

Intel on Tuesday made it official to bring its 11th Gen Core processors codenamed Tiger Lake to Chromebooks. The 11th Gen Intel Core processors come with Iris Xe graphics and the Intel Evo platform for thin and light laptops.

“10th Gen Intel Core-based Chromebooks continue to deliver leadership performance and experiences, and our internal benchmarking shows that we will extend this leadership with 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics,” the company said in a statement.

In the last five years, Intel’s processors have powered more than 57 million Chrome OS devices shipped, accounting for more than 90 percent of all Chrome OS devices.

Compared to 10th Gen Intel processors, the current top-performing CPUs for Chrome OS, Intel 11th Gen Core processors will enable people to load web pages up to 28 percent faster and experience a new class of gaming performance with 2.7 times faster graphics.

“Now import, batch edit and export photos up to 23 percent faster in Adobe Lightroom and reduce video production time with up to 54 percent faster importing and exporting videos in Kinemaster,” the company said.

Microsoft Word documents and Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets will open 2.1 times and 2.5 times faster, respectively, in Google Docs while on a Google Meets conference and running multiple apps in the background.

“Browse more with 77 percent faster Chrome tab launches while watching a YouTube video at 4K resolution, with other apps running in the background while maintaining the quality of the video playing,” Intel said.

In 2020, Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung launched six Chromebooks as part of the Project Athena innovation program.

“Each of those laptop designs was co-engineered, tuned, and tested with Intel to show they meet or surpass the program’s technical specifications and real-world key experiences spanning battery life, responsiveness, and instant wake,” Intel informed.

“As Chrome OS enters its second decade, we remain steadfast in delivering a real-world performance that is more critical than ever with users demanding more from their machines in the rapidly evolving telework and virtual learning environments today”.

Wildfire near LA grows to over 100,000 acres

0

The massive Bobcat Fire raging in the Angeles National Forest has so far scorched 105,345 acres of land with only 15 percent containment, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LAFD).

The blaze erupted on September 6 near the Cogswell Dam and spread rapidly amid an intense, record-breaking heatwave, Xinhua news agency quoted the LAFD as saying on Monday.

In just 48 hours, it spread over 2,000 acres, making it one of the largest wildfires in the history of Los Angeles County.

A total of 1,718 firefighters are battling the blaze, especially in its northern section, the LAFD said in its latest update, saying the fire threatened homes and forced evacuations in the foothill communities bordering the Antelope Valley.

Since the advancement of the fire to the southern direction has been stopped by a variety of tactics, cities in the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California have canceled their evacuation orders.

The Bobcat Fire is one of at least 27 major wildfires currently raging in California.

At least 26 people have died and 6,400 structures have been destroyed since fire activity picked up in August, the California Department of Fire Protection said.

Nearly 19,000 firefighters are battling the blazes.

Now transfer one photo album via Google Takeout portability tool

0

Google has given more controls to people who use Takeout, its data portability tool to export copies of its data from more than 70 Google products, including Gmail, Drive, and Photos. Now, the users can transfer specific albums, rather than the entire library.

Google said millions of photos have already been transferred since it began to roll out this feature.

People use Takeout for lots of different reasons: backing up their data, getting a bird’s eye view of what’s in their account, or moving their data to a different service without first downloading it onto a device.

“We first supported the direct transfer of data archives in 2016, and since then have launched a scheduled export service, as well as the ability to transfer photos directly from Google Photos to Flickr and Microsoft OneDrive,” Greg Fair, Co-founder, Data Transfer Project, said in a blog post on Monday.

Google and the Data Transfer Project recently submitted comments to the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) about data portability.

Today, there is an average of more than two million exports per month from Takeout, with more than 200 billion files exported in 2019.

“The principles that underpin Takeout also apply to the Data Transfer Project (DTP), an industry-wide effort that we founded and continue to lead with Microsoft, Twitter, Facebook, and Apple,” Google said.

Takeout is an open-source data portability platform that enables people to move their data directly from one service provider to another.

This can help people test a new service, or move data if they have slow or metered connections, like a mobile device in an area without access to high-speed broadband.

In 2018, Google gave the first public demo of the first prototype of the Data Transfer Project.

Last fall, it launched the first publicly-available direct transfer built with Data Transfer Project code, enabling people to move their Google Photos library to Flickr.

“With the addition of Microsoft OneDrive as a destination earlier this year, and the announcement of a photo album selection feature, we’re continuing our commitment to making portability more practical and widely available,” Google said.

Beaumont stars as England beat West Indies in first T20I

0

Tammy Beaumont scored a brilliant half-century as England Women defeated West Indies Women by 47 runs in the opening T20I of the five-match series at the Derbyshire County Ground.

On Monday evening, Beaumont played a 49-ball 62-run knock, studded with nine 4s and a six as England posted 163/8 in their allotted 20 overs.

Electing to bat, the hosts got off to a strong start before Stafanie Taylor claimed Windies’ first wicket in the sixth over of the England innings with the score on 43.

Taylor soon had her second wicket as she scalped Nat Sciver who could score just seven. Heather Knight (25) and Amy Jones (24) helped Beaumont to push the innings to take the hosts to 136/3 before the opener fell in the 16th over.

That wicket prompted a fightback from West Indies’ bowlers as they claimed a wicket in each of the last five overs to restrict England to 163/8. Shakera Selman finished with impressive figures of 3/26 from her four overs.

The visitors didn’t have a great start to their chase as they lost Hayley Matthews (3) in the third over of their innings. While Deandra Dottin (69) held firm, despite struggling to display her usual clean hitting early on, she couldn’t find much support from the rest of the batters. In fact, she was the only West Indies batter to reach double-figures and accounted for more than half the team total.

Dottin played a number of other stunning shots during her 59-ball knock before she tried to force a ball from Sophie Ecclestone through the off side and was bowled in the penultimate over. West Indies ultimately ended their full quota of 20 overs at 116/6, losing the match by 47 runs.

The two teams will now face each other in the second T20I at the same venue on Wednesday.

Brief scores: England 163/8 (Tammy Beaumont 62; Shakera Selman 3/26) beat West Indies 116/6 (Deandra Dottin 69; Natalie Sciver 2/16) by 47 runs.

India, China discuss border disputes for 14 hours

0

India and China held 14-hour long diplomatic-military talks in Moldo to resolve border disputes in Eastern Ladakh. The details of the deliberations between both the countries’ delegates are yet to be announced.

Both countries’ delegation had respective foreign ministry representative as the talks started at 9 a.m. and ended at 11 p.m.

It was for the first time that the Indian delegation had two Lieutenant Generals, two Major Generals, and a Joint Secretary from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Headed by Lt Gen Harinder Singh, Commander of the Leh based 14 Corps, the Indian delegation had Lt Gen PGK Menon from the Army headquarter in Delhi. Menon will eventually take over Commander of the Leh based 14 Corps in November.

The Joint Secretary Navin Srivastava, East Asia presence was there to ensure that deliberation with China takes place on an agreed five-point roadmap, including quick disengagement of troops, between both the countries.

The countries reached a five-point roadmap during the talks between External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Russia’s Moscow on September 10.

The delegation had also Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Inspector General Deepam Seth and four brigadiers. This was the sixth round of Corps Commander level discussion.

In August, during the fifth round of Corps Commander level discussion both the country representatives deliberated upon the prevailing situation in Pangong Lake, the biggest flashpoint in the standoff.

It was 14 Corps Lt Gen Harinder Singh and South Xinjiang Military District chief Major General Liu Lin who have been meeting to de-escalate the tension at the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh. The first meeting took place on June 6.

Thereafter though a barbaric attack at patrolling point 14 in Galway Valley on June 15 was carried out by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in which 20 Indian soldiers and an unknown number of Chinese soldiers were killed. It was the first casualties faced by the Indian Army in a clash with the PLA since 1975 when an Indian patrol was ambushed by Chinese troops in Arunachal Pradesh.

In the North bank of Pangong Tso, the troops are in an eyeball to eyeball situation between Finger 3 and Finger 4 where warning shots have been fired in the air by both the countries’ armies. In the South bank of the lake, the troops are a few meters away at Spanggur Gap, Mukhpari, and Rezang La.

China first made provocative military moves thereafter India too deployed mirror troops at these locations. At these two places, both the countries’ troops have fired warning shots to intimidate one another.

PLA troops made movements to occupy the area between Finger 3 and 4 earlier this month which led to the firing of around 200 shots in the air. Thereafter, both the troops are a few hundred meters away.

The mountain spurs jutting into the lake are referred to as ‘Fingers’ in military parlance. The north bank of the lake is divided into 8 fingers that are contested by both sides.

India claims the Line of Actual Control at Finger 8 and had been holding on to the area till Finger 4 but in a clear alteration of status quo the Chinese have been camping at Finger 4 and have set up fortifications between Finger 5 and 8.

Meg Lanning to lead Melbourne Stars in WBBL

0

Meg Lanning will be leading Melbourne Stars in the upcoming edition of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). She will take over the reins from Elyse Villani who led the side last season. Lanning had captained the Stars in the opening two seasons before moving to Perth.

“I’m looking forward to leading the Melbourne Stars again and building on the great work Elyse Villani has done. It’s a privilege to be captain and we’re pretty happy with how our squad looks ahead of the tournament,” Lanning said in an official statement.

“More than anything, I’m really looking forward to getting back to playing cricket, firstly with Australia and then with Stars in WBBL.”

Meanwhile, the side also announced the signing of all-rounder Bhavi Devchand to complete its roster for this WBBL season slated to be played in Sydney, beginning October 25.

Devchand, 27, signed her first contract with Victoria this season and has previously played for the Perth Scorchers and Gloucestershire.

“Bhavi is obviously new to the Stars team and the Victorian squad this season. We’re looking forward to having her involved in WBBL and I’m sure she’ll take a lot from the opportunity,” Lanning said.

Melbourne Stars squad: Meg Lanning (captain), Katherine Brunt, Nat Sciver, Elyse Villani, Mignon du Preez, Annabel Sutherland, Lucy Cripps, Bhavi Devchand, Alana King, Holly Ferling, Erin Osborne, Tess Flintoff, Georgia Gall, Sophie Day, Nicole Faltum.

Big companies deserve scrutiny, Apple has no monopoly: Tim Cook

0

Stressing that big companies deserve scrutiny, Apple CEO Tim Cook has said that his company conducts itself with utmost integrity and professionalism.

Speaking at The Atlantic Festival on Monday where he discussed privacy, antitrust issues, and his relationship with US President Donald Trump, Cook said Apple has no monopoly over the global markets, reports MacRumors.

“I have no issue at all in Apple being put underneath the microscope and people looking and probing. My hope is that as people heard our story and as they continue to hear our story that it will become as apparent to them as it is to us that we have no monopoly. There is no monopoly here,” Cook was quoted as saying

On the ongoing US antitrust investigation into big tech firms, Cook said that “big companies deserve scrutiny,” something that’s “fair but important” for the American government.

“We’re in very, very competitive markets like smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets and personal computers. These things are fiercely competitive. They’re basically street fights for market share,” Cook stressed.

Apple has faced criticism in several markets including in the US and Europe for the App Store fees, with the European Commission opening formal antitrust investigations to assess whether Apple’s rules for app developers on the distribution of apps via the App Store violate the EU competition rules.

Cook said that its core strategy will never produce a monopoly.

“It’s very rare, almost impossible for the best to become the most as well. Somebody will choose a commodity product and there are enough people that will buy the commodity product that it will have more share. And that’s true in all of the different fields we’re in”.

On his relationship with Trump, Cook said that he views the specific conversations he’s had with Trump as “private conversations”.

“We don’t focus on politics. And so it keeps us out of the sort of the daily scrum of politics and keeps us very focused on the things that are very important to us,” he added.

On remote work, Cook said he can’t wait for “everybody to be able to come back”.

“For things like creativity, you depend on people kind of running into each other over the course of a day. We have designed our entire office such that there are common areas where people congregate and talk about different things. And you can’t schedule those times”.

“We’ve got about 10-15 percent working today in the office. I’m in the office at different points during the week as well, but the vast majority, 85 to 90 percent of the company is still working remotely”.

Djokovic clinches record 36th Masters title in Rome

0

World number one Novak Djokovic won the men’s singles title at the Italian Open after defeating Diego Schwartzman of Argentina in straight sets, three weeks after completing his second Career Golden Masters at the Western & Southern Open.

On Monday evening, Djokovic defeated Schwartzman 7-5, 6-3 to clinch a record-breaking 36th Masters 1000 crown, one more than Rafael Nadal.

Entering the summit clash, Schwartzman, 28, was attempting to join 2016 champion Andy Murray and 2017 winner Alexander Zverev as only the third player outside of Djokovic and Nadal to win the title in Rome since 2005.

“It was a great week, a very challenging week. I don’t think I played my best tennis throughout the entire week, but I think I found my best tennis when I needed it the most in the decisive moments today, yesterday (and in) practically every match,” said Djokovic after the match as per the ATP Tour website.

“That definitely makes me very satisfied and proud that I managed to find that fifth gear when it was most needed. Turning to Paris, I couldn’t ask for a better tournament here in Rome. Another big title and (I am) super pleased with it,” he added.

The world number one has now won 31 of his 32 matches this year. He has won four trophies from five events in 2020, following title runs at the Australian Open, the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships, and the Western & Southern Open.

Ibrahimovic scores twice as Milan win Serie A opener against Bologna

0

Zlatan Ibrahimovic continued to prove his value as the hitman scored twice against Bologna, helping AC Milan to a good start to the new Serie A season.

On Monday, Milan coach Stefano Pioli benched new signing Sandro Tonali and selected Ibrahimovic to lead the attacking line, flanked by Ante Rebic and Samu Castillejo, with Turk Hakan Calhanoglu behind them, reports Xinhua news agency.

Ibrahimovic was close to finding the net in the 11th minute as his attempt went just inches past the far post after a meandering run in the box.

The 38-year-old broke the deadlock in the 34th minute as Theo Hernandez whipped in a cross from the left and the Swede out-jumped two defenders to steer his powering header into the net.

Milan doubled the lead four minutes after the break as Ismael Bennacer was charged down by Riccardo Orsolini in the box, Ibrahimovic stepped up to convert the penalty.

Ibrahimovic had the chance to complete his hat-trick in the 63rd minute, but he ballooned the ball over the bar with the goalkeeper well beaten.

Bologna went a player down in the dying minutes as Mitchell Dijks saw red after his second yellow card for getting a fistful of Alexis Saelemaekers’ shirt.

Facebook introduces Rights Manager for images

0

In a bid to help creators and publishers manage their intellectual property related to images, Facebook has introduced the Rights Manager for images.

The new version uses image matching technology to help creators and publishers protect and manage their image content at scale.

To access Rights Manager, Page admins can submit an application for content they’ve created and want to protect.

“Rights Manager will find matching content on Facebook and Instagram. Settings can be adjusted to match things like ownership that should apply worldwide or only in certain locations,” Facebook said in a blog post on Monday.

In addition to the free content management tools to help combat infringement, Facebook said it also has a fast and effective IP reporting system, a repeat infringer policy, and other measures.

“We want to ensure Facebook is a safe and valuable place for creators to share their content.

“That’s why we built tools like Rights Manager in Creator Studio to help creators and publishers who have a large or growing catalog of content better control when, how and where their content is shared across Facebook and Instagram,” the social network said.

Facebook helps 2.5mn US voters register via its platforms

0

Facebook on Monday said it has helped 2.5 million people register so far this year across Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger before the National Voter Registration Day that falls on September 22.

That’s why Facebook has embarked on the largest voting information campaign in American history, with the goal of helping register 4 million eligible voters in the US this year.

Facebook aimed to register 4 million eligible voters in the US this year.

“It’s a promising start, but we have more work to do. With six weeks until Election Day and registration deadlines fast approaching in many states, this week we’re putting the full force of our platform behind this campaign to empower every eligible voter to make their voice heard in this election,” the social network said in a blog post.

The company has started showing people in the US information about how to register at the top of the Facebook, Instagram and Messenger apps.

These notifications take people to the relevant page with their state’s official website or one of the non-partisan partner organisations if online voter registration isn’t available in their state.

“We’ll keep showing these notifications through September 25, building on previous top-of-feed registration drives we ran this summer,” Facebook said.

“On Instagram, those who use the new National Voter Registration Day stickers – launching tomorrow and created by artists from our community – will be added to a special Register To Vote story,” the company added.

Facebook app and Instagram will also run campaigns on the platform to encourage people to visit the Voting Information Center.

So far 39 million people have visited the Voting Information Center on Facebook and Instagram to get information about how to register and how to vote from their state’s official website or one of our non-partisan partner sites.

“Next week, we’re launching the early voting feature with more information about early voting polling locations, dates, and hours,” Facebook said.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced to give additional paid time off to all employees at his company who volunteer as poll workers during the 2020 US presidential election in November.

Facebook has launched a poll worker recruitment drive, making it easy for people to sign up and serve as a poll worker with their state election authorities.

‘Bollywood robs women’s dignity’: BJP turns on the heat in Parliament

‘Bollywood kills, Bollywood sexually abuses’, were some of the allegations that resonated in the Parliament House complex on Monday.

BJP Rajya Sabha member Roopa Ganguly, one of the earliest lawmakers to seek a CBI inquiry into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death, held a symbolic protest holding placards that made the aforementioned allegations. Interestingly, the protest assumes significance in the backdrop of a charge of sexual assault against celebrated filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.

Ganguly held placards that read, “How many more women’s dignity will be assaulted by the Mumbai film industry?” Another placard read,”How many more murders will the Mumbai film industry execute?” Ganguly was protesting in front of the famous Gandhi statue in Parliament House.

Late last night, in a veiled reference to Kashyap, BJP’s Lok Sabha member Ravi Kishan had raised the matter in the House. He talked about a “famous director”.

Earlier actor Payal Ghosh, who leveled the charges against Kashyap told IANS, “I was molested by a very famous director. The director told me that the girls he works with have a ‘gala time’ with him. The circumstances created at that moment were very embarrassing.”

Asked to name the director, the actress said: “It was Anurag Kashyap who tried to molest me in 2014.”

Kashyap has denied all sexual assault allegations leveled against him.

But now, with the matter reaching Parliament House, albeit, in a veiled manner, the heat is on Bollywood.

Breast cancer drug shows promise to change prostate cancer treatment

0

A drug used to treat breast and ovarian cancer can extend the lives of some men with prostate cancer, showed results of a major trial that could change clinical practice.

Final results from the trial showed that olaparib — a pioneering type of drug called a PARP inhibitor, a cancer drug to target an inherited genetic fault — can be used successfully to treat prostate cancers with a weakness in their ability to repair damaged DNA.

The drug was more effective than the modern hormone treatments abiraterone and enzalutamide at slowing down the growth and spread of prostate cancer in patients with advanced disease, the results showed.

The trial had already reported an improvement in disease development and outcome for this group of men with DNA repair faults in their tumors — but the final results published at this stage offer a longer follow-up and conclusively demonstrate an improvement in survival for men who were given olaparib.

The trial studied 387 men with advanced prostate cancer who had defects in one or more of 15 DNA repair genes.

Scientists at The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), London, were the first to discover how olaparib could be targeted at tumors with faults in their ability to repair DNA.

They now expect the concluding results from the trial — presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology on Sunday and published in the journal The New England Journal of Medicine at the same time — to pave the way for regulatory approval of olaparib in prostate cancer in Europe and in the UK.

“I’m confident that our results will transform prostate cancer treatment – hopefully very soon,” said study co-leader Johann de Bono, Professor of Experimental Cancer Medicine at The Institute of Cancer Research, London.

“We have shown that olaparib, a drug already approved for use in breast and ovarian cancer, can extend the lives of men with advanced prostate who have defects in the genes BRCA1, BRCA2 or ATM and who have been treated with enzalutamide or abiraterone,” said de Bono who is also Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.

“The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has already approved olaparib for prostate cancer in the US and I hope that the final results of our trial will bring the authorization of this innovative drug to Europe and the UK as soon as possible,” he said.

Men whose tumors had genetic changes were assigned to two groups: one group for those with changes in BRCA1, BRCA2, or ATM, and another group for men with genetic changes in any other of the DNA repair genes studied.

Men were then randomly assigned to olaparib or standard hormone therapy.

DNA damage is the basic cause of cancer — but it is also a key weakness of cancer that can be exploited since cancer cells need to be able to repair their own DNA too.

In the final analysis of data from the “PROfound” trial, researchers found that olaparib blocked prostate cancer growth more effectively than the modern targeted hormone treatments abiraterone and enzalutamide in men with faulty DNA repair genes.

Patients with genetic alterations in the DNA repair genes BRCA1, BRCA2, or ATM who received olaparib had a median overall survival of 19.1 months, compared with 14.7 months for those on targeted hormone treatments, showed the results.

T’gana man refuses to allow mother into house over Covid fear

In a cruel act, a man refused to allow his mother into the house due to a COVID scare, though she has already recovered from the virus.

The 65-year-old woman is lying in the open in front of her house for the last two days as her son and his family left after locking the house.

The shocking incident occurred in Nizamabad town of Telangana, highlighting once again how the COVID scare has made some people insensitive towards their parents and near and dear ones.

Local residents said G. Balamani was sent to an old age home by her son some time ago. She recently tested positive for Covid-19 and the caretaker of the old age home admitted her to a government hospital. Though she recovered from the virus and tested negative a week ago, her son did not go to the hospital to bring her home.

As her son, said to be working as an assistant engineer in the electricity department, did not respond to phone calls, the hospital authorities dropped the woman outside her house. However, her son refused to allow her into the house.

With the old age home also shut due to the COVID pandemic and nowhere to go, the woman sat in front of the door. Showing no concern, the man locked the house from outside and left with his wife and children.

Seeing her plight, some neighbors gave her food and drinking water. However, the woman is suffering severe inconvenience due to incessant rains and the cold.

After learning about Balamani’s misery, senior civil judge Kiranmayi on Monday visited the house and called on her. She assured her all help.

In May, an 80-year-old woman was not allowed into the house by her sons out of COVID fear as she returned from Maharashtra. The incident had occurred in Karimnagar town.

The woman who had gone to Sholapur to meet her relatives was stranded there due to lockdown and returned only after relaxations in the lockdown norms. Though she was healthy and was not infected by COVID, her elder son and his wife did not allow her into the house.

The woman’s younger son too had locked his house and gone away out of fear of the virus.

Her elder son finally relented at the intervention of police and the local authorities.

World Alzheimer’s Day: Avoiding drugs, healthy lifestyle key to combat disease

World Alzheimer’s Day is observed every year on September 21. Alzheimer’s disease is seen in people especially after 65 years of age where they are unable to remember things or tasks. Taking necessary precautions while maintaining a healthy lifestyle and keeping away from drugs can keep mental disorders such as Alzheimer’s and dementia at bay.

With aging, all kinds of diseases start targeting our bodies. One of the major diseases is Alzheimer’s/dementia in elderly people where they tend to forget basic tasks. The number of such people is increasing by the day. That is why World Alzheimer’s Day or Dementia Day is celebrated every year on September 21 to prevent this disease from spreading to people. It is aimed at bringing awareness so that the elderly can be saved from this disease.

Dr. Adarsh Tripathi, Additional Professor, Department of Psychiatry, King George Medical University, says in order to protect the elderly from dementia, it is necessary that all family members maintain affinity towards them. Do not let them feel lonely, take time out to talk to them, do not ignore their concerns but listen to them carefully. These are the steps to help elderly people suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s.

However, several steps such as keeping their mind occupied with other tasks, taking care of their favorite things, sleep-wake time, breakfast, and food arrangements at the scheduled time can help prevent Alzheimer’s or dementia to a great extent.

This disease occurs due to brain tissue damage during old age. The risk of the disease increases due to disturbances in the protein structure of the brain. It is a brain-related disease in which a person gradually starts losing memory. A person is unable to remember even the smallest of things. When this disease aggravates, the person does not even remember the faces of people. No exact cure for this disease has been found until now.

The doctor said that to get control over amnesia, it was necessary to keep yourself physically and mentally healthy. Do not let negative thoughts take a toll on the mind and keep the mind happy with positive thoughts. If you are interested in activities like listening to the music of your choice, singing songs, cooking, gardening, sports, etc then engage in it with full dedication.

An advisory released recently by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, says as per the 2011 census, there were nearly 16 crore elderly people aged above 60 years in the country. Of these, nearly 8.8 crores were between 60 and 69 years, 6.4 crores were between 70 and 79 years, 2.8 crore aged 80 years who were dependent on others, and 18 lakh elderly people who were either homeless or have no one to take care of them.
