Short and long-term effects Of styrene gas

0

Dr. D Raghunatha Rao, former Director, Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre said styrene is primarily used in the production of polystyrene plastics and resins. Acute (short-term) exposure to styrene in humans results in mucous membrane and eye irritation, and gastrointestinal effects.

He said chronic (long-term) exposure to styrene in human beings leads to serious multiple complications. He said studies on its impact are inconclusive on the reproductive and developmental effects of styrene. Several studies did not report an increase in developmental effects in women who worked in the plastics industry, while an increased frequency of spontaneous abortions and decreased frequency of births were reported in another study. “Several epidemiological studies suggest there may be an association between styrene exposure and an increased risk of leukemia and lymphoma. However, the evidence is inconclusive due to confounding factors,” he pointed out.

Police case filed against Famous Anchor

Back in 2018, people belonging to Nayi Brahmin community have breathed fire on ETV’s Pataas program and how the show portrayed them in a bad light. Responding on the same, anchor Sreemukhi has apologised to them publicly on the TV. And now, a similar allegation popped up, only this time a police case is lodged.

Apparently people from Brahmin community got hurt with some pieces of comedy and comments in the last couple of episodes of the program “Julakataka” that is being aired on Gemini TV. While Sreemukhi is the host of the show, and she herself laughing at those jokes on Brahmins, Venkataramana Sharma, a community leader, has now lodged a case in Banjara Hills police station.

Sharma alleged that Sreemukhi and Gemini TV have repeatedly made fun of Brahmins and has even submitted the clips related to the comedy to the police. While a case was registered already, Sreemukhi is yet to respond on these allegations. At the same time, some say that she will be issuing another apology through her social media handle this time.

Sreemukhi rose to popularity with her TV shows like Pataas, and later she tried a hand at Bigg Boss too, where she turned a runner up. Despite that soaring popularity during Bigg Boss days, the actress hasn’t made anything big out of it. Meanwhile, her spicy photoshoots shared on her Instagram page are a super hit with fans.

Virat Kohli career graph tells the entire story

0

Former India pacer Ashish Nehra believes young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who was initially said to be MS Dhoni’s successor, needs backing of the team management for a longer duration.”There are a lot of talented players but they should be backed for a longer duration. Today also when we talk about the number 5 and 6 slots in Indian ODI side, then we are not sure about it,” Nehra said while speaking to former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra on his show ‘Aakash Vani’.

“KL Rahul is playing on the 5th position and Pant, the person you were preparing to succeed M.S. Dhoni, is serving water,” he added. Before cricket was stopped due to coronavirus, Pant had lost his place in the Indian team in white-ball cricket to Rahul. Pant’s inconsistencies cost him as the Indian team management handed over the wicket-keeping gloves to Rahul, who took over the role with great ease.

“I know he has missed his chances and there is no doubt about it but then you have kept him in the team because you saw the potential in him at 22-23 years,” Nehra said.
The former left-arm pacer also gave his views on Virat Kohli’s captaincy, saying the latter is still a work in progress when it comes to him in the role of a skipper.

“Virat Kohli as a player needs no recognition as his career graph tells the entire story. Kohli as a player has done amazingly well, in captaincy I still feel he is a work in progress. I can say he is a little bit impulsive captain,” said the 41-year-old.Nehra, who played 17 Tests, 120 ODIs and 27 T20Is, also said that the current Indian team is far from that of Australia of the 2000s.

“This Indian team is far from the Australia team. You are talking about an Australian team which won 3 consecutive World Cups, reached the final in 1996, won 18-19 Test matches in home and away conditions,” said Nehra, who still holds the record for best figures by an Indian bowler in a World Cup.

“It’s not like this Indian team can not reach there but I believe the core group is very important. A person gets confused after watching many dishes on the table and so it’s important to have fewer but better dishes,” he added.

Pawan kalyan shocking comments on YSRCP government

0

There has been wide criticism on YSRCP government for opening the wine shops across the state despite there is a huge surge in the Corona positive cases. The main opposition TDP did not just criticize the Jagan sarkar for opening the liquor shops but also for the hiking the prices.

Joining chorus is Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and he called YSRCP led AP government as Corona friendly. Pawan questioned why liquor shops were opened when religious places such as temples, churches and mosques were shutdown for the past one month or so.

“YCP led AP GOVT ‘has become ‘CORONA FRIENDLY’, this Govt came into power with an electoral promise to people that ,they will implement ‘COMPLETE LIQUOR BAN’ and of course, they later changed it as ‘PHASE WISE BAN,” tweeted Pawan Kalyan.

The Jana Sena also mentioned about the suicides of a mother and daughter as their head of the family came drunk and manhandled them. “It’s painful to see to look at the suicides, due to opening of liquor shops in AP,” added Pawan in another tweet.

However, the hike of liquor prices looks inevitable for Jagan sarkar as the financial sources of the state have hit rock bottom. And despite hiking the prices, people flocked at wine shops and so we have seen long queues. But here the AP government failed to control the massive crowd at wines unlike other states.

KCR strict warningto the wine shop owners

0

KCR announced the opening of liquor shops in Telangana state, calling it inevitable at this moment. Speaking the statistics out, KCR said that the four states sharing the border of Telangana opened the liquor stores and this leads to smuggling and seconds sale in the state if not opened here.

So, also to avoid the agitation and protest from local breweries and licensed wine stores in Telangana state, KCR said the cabinet decided to open the stores but with conditions. The CM revealed that they decided to hike the price with an average 16 percent, while it is 11 percent on low priced liquor. The CM frankly says that the rich will be paying more and the poor will be paying less, but it will never be as high as 70 percent tax like in other states.

There are around 2200 wine shops in Telangana and except 15 stores in containment zones, all will be opened from 10 am tomorrow. KCR stressed once again that bars, pubs, and clubs remain closed.

KCR issued a strict warning in his live press meet to the wine shop owners and also costumers, to maintain physical distancing. Those who do not abide by the rules of COVID-19, KCR warned of dire consequences along with canceling the license of wine shops.

The Telangana CM asked the media to record and click pictures at wine shops and said he will watch it all tomorrow and if he finds any negligence in following the rules, the action will be taken instantly.

Well, finally, KCR also warned the costumers at wine shops to use masks and said, there will be no liquor sold for those not using masks. He also asked the public to use masks while visiting grocery stores.

TS government paid 4 crore to the Railways

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao fumed at the Centre for adopting faulty policies, which he said, worsened the economic condition in the entire nation. Further, Rao took exception to the Centre neglecting the suggestions and pleas of the state government on steps to alleviate the economic crisis, which turned to the worse due to the ongoing lockdown imposed to check the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

KCR reminded that there was economic slowdown in the nation even before the outbreak of coronavirus. The Covid-induced lockdown made the economies of both the states and the Centre more weak, he said.

“In such a condition, the state, which gets an income of 11,000 crore every month, has earned only 1,600 crore. Now, to pay the salaries of government employees and pensioners, the TS government needs 3,000 crore every month. I explained to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the tele conference about the deficit and suggested that the Centre, which is cash-strapped, decentralise the powers so as to enable the states to sail through the hardship but they are caring a hoot to the suggestions. The Centre has rights to take up the Broad Fiscal Policy which can improve the economic conditions but it is not doing exercising the rights.”

Further, Rao also expressed anguish over the Centre not bearing the expenditure of the transportation of migrants. He said that he spoke to the Railway authorities and asked them to shift the migrants at free of cost.

Rao said that the TS government paid 4 crore to the Railways towards shifting the migrants to their native places from various parts of the state. “It is a shame on the Centre to not be able to transport migrants to their home towns bearing the entire cost. Further, all the train services have been suspended due the lockdown and it would have better if the Centre would have agreed to run at least 1,000 trains in the entire country for the workers.”
