Latest Updates of corona cases

With 195 deaths and 3,900 COVID-19 new cases reported since Monday, the death toll due to the coronavirus pandemic rose to 1,568 on Tuesday while the total number of infections jumped to 46, 433. This is the highest jump in the death toll and the number of cases since the outbreak of the disease in the country, according to the Health Ministry’s latest update. A total of 12,726 people have been treated and discharged so far.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a video chat with Nobel Laureate Abhijit Banerjee and discussed ways to deal with the economic fall out of the COVID-19 crisis. Banerjee told Rahul that direct benefit transfers should go beyond the poorest people. “To give cash to people, we really need some machinery. Migrants may not have access to that. We should give a bunch of money available to the state government for them to try out new strategies.”

If the scenes on the first day of the third phase of lockdown are any indication, the number of Coronavirus infections are likely to rise sharply in the coming days. Large crowds were seen at many places, not just in front of liquor shops, and physical distancing norms were largely ignored. In many states, the movement of migrant workers is also resulting in similar situations.

On the global front, the number of cases has now surpassed 3.5 million with 2,51, 510 deaths, although the rate of fatalities and new cases has slowed from peaks reached last month. The Donald Trump-led United States continues to be the worst-affected with 11,66,083 cases and 67,913 deaths.

Every one should have Aarogya Setu application in their Mobile

0

Not having the Aarogya Setu application has been made a punishable office by Noida police. Those living in Noida and Greater Noida will be fined or jailed if they don’t have the contact tracing app on their smartphones. The order applies to even those entering the city.

“All those with smartphones who do not have the application can be booked under Section 188 of the IPC. After that, a judicial magistrate will either decide if the person will be tried, fined or left with a warning,” said Akhilesh Kumar, DCP Law and Order.

Section 188 of IPC deals with disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant. A person can be imprisoned up to 6 months or fined up to Rs 1000.

“If people download it instantly, we will let them go. We are doing this so that people take the order seriously and download it. But if they do not download it after repeated warnings, we will have to take action,” said Kumar.

In case someone does not have mobile data, he said, “we will give them hotspot so that they can download it there and then.” And if there are other issues such as lack of phone storage, the officer said they will take the person’s phone number and call to check whether they have downloaded it. The police will conduct checks at borders, market areas and any other areas where they are out on patrol duty.

This has effectively made installing the app mandatory despite the Centre’s guidelines clearly stating that only those employed in the private and public sectors and attending offices should install it. However, states are allowed to tighten the lockdown guidelines issued by the central government., but not water them down.

lathi charge against the protesting migrant workers

In a shocking incident, migrant workers in Andhra Pradesh have revolted demanding the state government to make necessary arrangements to return to their home towns. The migrant workers, who gathered in hundreds, have protested and even attacked the police who had tried to pacify them. With the situation getting out of control, cops had no other option but to initiate a lathi charge against the protesting migrant workers.

This incident took place in Kovvur of West Godavari where over 300 migrant workers belonging to Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha states came onto Kovvur main road and protested. This resulted in the blocking of the transport on the road. Police have stepped in and DCP too was present to convince the migrant workers.

DCP had tried to explain to the migrant workers that the permissions from their states – Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha – are due. But not convinced with this, the protesting labor have pelted stones and hurled bottles on police personnel. Police have finally lathi-charged the protesters to disburse them.

The other day, Hyderabad witnessed similar protest from migrant workers where they had come onto the street at Tolichowki in hundreds. With each passing day, the governments are finding it difficult to control the migrant workers. While the state governments are yet to clear permissions for the return of their migrant workers from other states, the situation looks difficult. However, officials are confident that they would resolve this soon.

People selling liquor at a higher price

During the ongoing lockdown due to Corona crisis, we have seen people selling liquor at a higher price and large number of bottles and cash were seized in several places. Apart from liquor recovered, some gallons of beer is likely go totally wasted in Telangana state.

Had there been no lockdown in state, the sale of beer would have added 600 Cr to government’s kitty in a month. Meaning, 50 lakhs beer cartons gets will sold every month.

As soon as PM Modi announced the shut down of public places including bars, cinema theaters, shopping malls, factories, IT companies, function halls & crowded places, the brewing companies have stopped production in the country. And the total beer market hit rock bottom.

If Telangana state decides to go ahead with complete lockdown till 17th May, it would be a 2-month loss (an estimated of 1200 Cr) to the state government.

As per the data from state excise department, an estimated of 1.5 Cr litres beer is expected to go wasted as expiration date is coming close. So, it is for the public to verify expiry date while purchasing beers after the lockdown restrictions are lifted.

They have ignored the social distancing rule completely

It is definitely the re-opening of liquor shops which saw people standing in queues from 10 AM onwards in Andhra Pradesh, though the shops are scheduled to be opened from 11 AM onwards.

While In Delhi, one of the prominent A centre of the country, almost 100s of people in their handkerchief masks are seen standing in a queue outside liquor shops. Same is the case in AP, where crowds rushed to the shops though the YS Jagan led government has increased prices of liquor by 20%. And in many other states, though people wore masks, they have ignored the social distancing rule completely as they rushed into queues to grab their first bottle after a month of prohibition.

The liquor scenes across many states in India are indicating that there will be blockbuster collections in the offing through this newly released film. Even the posh stores in some residential stores are going to witness a stock blackout on Day 1 itself as people are likely to slurp the whole stock today itself.

Coming to Telangana, the state is looking at opening factories that manufacture beer and likely to procure more beer from other states too. But then with the number of corona positive cases in Hyderabad going up, KCR government is a bit worried about opening liquor states. Some major decisions regarding the liquor policy will be taken in the cabinet meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

Collect train fares from migrants at this hour is “disturbing” :Sonia Gandhi

Congress president Sonia Gandhi announced that the Pradesh Congress Committees (PCCs) of the respective states would pay for the rail travel of the migrant workers. She said the cost of rail travel of every needy worker and migrant labour would be paid by the PCCs, Sonia said in a statement on Monday. She found fault with the decision of the Central government and the Rail Ministry for deciding to charge fares from the migrants. She said the government’s decision to collect train fares from migrants at this hour is “disturbing”.

“Our workers and labourers form the backbone of our economy. Their hard work and sacrifice are the foundation of our nation,” Sonia said. She further said, “The Indian National Congress has, therefore, taken a decision that every Pradesh Congress Committee shall bear the cost for the rail travel of every needy worker and migrant labourer and shall take necessary steps in this regard.

This will be the Indian National Congress’ humble contribution in service of our compatriots and to stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with them.” Sonia attacked Narendra Modi-led Union Government. She said, “But what is the responsibility of our Government? Even today, lakhs of workers and migrant labourers are languishing in different parts of the country and wish to return to their homes and families but there is neither adequate money nor provision for free transport. What is particularly disturbing is that the Central Government and the Rail Ministry are charging them for train tickets in this hour of crisis.”

Why Rashmika Mandanna is avoiding Vijay Deverakonda?

Rashmika Mandanna was busy with a question and answer session on Instagram and that was when her fans decided to ask her those questions which they have been wanting to.Her fans asked her to give a glimpse of her house and so, she took them on a short tour of her house, but chose not to show her bedroom as it is her private place, she said.

In this sessions, fans have asked her to choose any one in between Vijay Deverakonda and Nithiin. She has worked with both of them and their films have been lovely. But Rashmika has simply avoided answering this question.

She has left the answer blank to avoid controversies, but still, it has become a news. Rashmika has always been outspoken about Vijay. But after too many rumours about them during Dear Comrade, the actress hardly spoke about him or even replied to any of his tweets. Now this makes the fan wonder whether everything in between them is fine or if any trouble is brewing.

Netizens are unnecessariliy Trolling Alia Bhatt

Actually, she was on a facetime call with Rishi Kapoor’s daughter Riddhima who was stuck in Delhi and could not come right away to be with family and to be at last rites of her father. Alia Bhatt was seen holding the phone to show her Ranbir performing the Hindu funeral customs and rituals before the actual funeral of Rishi.

Riddhima tweeted later that she wished she could be there to say goodbye to her father. Riddhima shared a post for her father. It reads, “Papa I love you I will always love you – RIP my strongest warrior I will miss you every day I will miss your FaceTime calls every day! I wish I could be there to say goodbye to you ! Until we meet again papa I love you – your Mushk forever”.

She could not attend the funeral procession as there are no flights and she could not reach Mumbai in time by road travel. So the trolls need to take a break and stop judging her amid the sadness and suffering the family is going through at this moment. It is already known that Ranbir and Alia are seeing each other and were soon to get married.

Earlier, today Bollywood’s senior actor and Rishi Kapoor’s best friend Amitabh Bachchan tweeted the news out about Rishi Kapoor passing away. His tweet is so moving that it not just put the sad news out but also Amitabh’s actual feeling after knowing that Rishi is no more.

Amitabh Bachchan later deleted the tweet and wrote a heartfelt blog ‘In Memoriam’ and recalled his bonding with Rishi Kapoor. In the end of it, he wrote “I never visited him in Hospital .. I never wanted to see distress on his smiling cherubic face. But I am certain .. when he went , he must have gone with a gentle smile.”

Revenue officials had seized the land Of Prabhas

In a setback to hero Prabhas, the High Court of Telangana today quashed the Kukatpally trial court’s 2018 order which allowed him temporary possession of the 2,083 sq yd land located in Raidurg, Serilingampally in Ranga Reddy district. The High Court has found fault with the interim order issued by the trial court.

Back in 2018, the Telangana government’s revenue officials had seized the land and moved the Kukatpally trial court, claiming that it owns the land which Prabhas claimed to have purchased several years ago. The actor even registered a sale deed for the same. In his appeal to the trial court, Prabhas said that the government had even accepted his application in 2014 under a land regularisation scheme.

The trial court then issued an interim injunction in favour of Prabhas, giving him possession of the farm house land till April 3rd, 2020. But the interim order was extended till June last week due to the lockdown. This prompted the revenue officials to move the High Court.

The High Court’s bench has observed that the trial court’s order was a mistake and that Prabhas should not have the possession of the property. However, the bench has also directed the revenue authorities not to demolish the building constructed in the plot.

Sai Pallavi Dominating Naga chaitanya

With the shooting of ‘Love Story’ almost done, director Sekhar Kammula is said to have readied the film in the editing suite, such that he could wrap balance shoot quite quickly after lockdown goes off.

In the meantime, with hero Naga Chaitanya asking him to showcase some scenes, such that he could show them to wife, the director is said to have sent some edited work to him.

After watching the 80% of the completed film, without re-recording of course, Samantha is said to have told the director that Sai Pallavi is truly dominating in the movie.

Sources say that Sekhar Kammula got confused whether that is a positive statement or not. He is said to have stunned if Samantha is giving feedback about his heroine’s acting or saying that she snatched the limelight from her husband.

Previously, Samantha is the one who hailed Kammula for writing women-centric films and carving feminist movies. And now that her husband is acting as a lead in “Love Story”, surely she can’t demand her husband to be in a huge spotlight than the heroine. Maybe she is praising Sai Pallavi’s work, we have to say.

New symptoms Of Corona virus

The coronavirus outbreak is making people paranoid as even the common flu or cold is giving us the fear of having COVID-19. The symptoms of coronavirus that we know are fever, shortness of breath, and dry cough. But, on Monday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a set of six new symptoms of the novel virus that has appeared in the Covid-19 patients repeatedly.

The six new symptoms are Chills, Repeated shaking/shivering with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat and, Loss of taste or smell and the health experts claim that losing your sense of smell and taste is probably the best way to tell if you are infected with the novel virus because this particular symptom has appeared in Covid-19 patients since mid-March. Nearly percent of the coronavirus patients had reported losing their sense of smell and taste.

Two more symptoms that are not listed in the new six signs are Fatigue and discoloration of toes. Patients who are contracted usually experience fatigue. Also, scientists say that in children, discoloration of toes or inflammation can be a symptom. Parents need to be alert if children have redness on their toes like the cold sores.

Therefore, coronavirus now has a wide range of symptoms and it is more perplexing than before to identify. However, one should not immediately jump into a conclusion if any one of the above symptoms is seen. Consult doctors regarding this instead of self-curing. And usually, the symptoms of Covid-19 infection (a combination of two of them) may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.

Green signal to the liquor shops

The center has decided to exempt the Green and Orange zones from few restrictions, while the Red zones and Containment zones are to observe the strict measures of lockdown. In a relief to people who are longing for alcohol, the liquor shops can be opened in green zones and orange zones after May 3. Liquor shops in Red zones also will be opened of they are not in containment pockets, but the vendors must ensure social distancing, and not more than 5 customers at a time will be allowed in the shop.

Also, the domestic help, drivers, and cleaners are allowed to return to work in green and non-containment zones. Public transport is not available and no domestic help is allowed to enter containment pockets, which include trains, flights, and metro services as well. Buses are allowed to operate with up to 50 percent seating capacity.

The Home Ministry ordered that schools, colleges, hotels, restaurants, gyms, cinema theaters, and shopping malls and worship places remain closed for the next two weeks. With a total of 130 districts in red zones in the country, the restrictions remain intact in them along with the hotspot and containment areas.

Lock Down Extended To May 17th

In a big breaking news the Centre has extended the lockdown by two more weeks. The union ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued a press statement regarding the same and also issued guidelines for Red, Green and Orange zones.

Surprisingly this time PM Narendra Modi did not turn up to address the nation to announce this lockdown extension which was not expected at all. Many expected that PM Modi would address the gathering on May 3rd night to make a statement on lockdown.

The MHA press release states the lockdown will be up to May 17th. The Centre has provided exemptions in Green and orange zones while strict restrictions will continue in Red and containment zones.

KTR advised promoting mega industrial parks

KTR underlines the improvement of export competitiveness in priority sectors like Pharma, Aerospace, Textiles, Leather, IT, and Food procession with acting scouting of markets and offers a better deal than what competing nations offer. He further bounced the idea of soft loans to procure quality machinery, International training of staff, offer attractive incentives on exports, and also bailout for SMEs as they are worst affected.

KTR advised promoting mega industrial parks like Hyderabad Pharma City and Kakatiya Mega Textile Park as National projects to scale them up to compete for manufacturing opportunities. Constituting an Empowered Strategy Group to identify and follow up on investment opportunities, is also one of the persuasive ideas.

Needless to say that out of six pharma companies in India that are in the race to make a vaccine for COVID-19, three are headquartered at Hyderabad. There are five young entrepreneurs from Hyderabad in the recent list of most reputed Forbes 30 under 30 Asia.

While these are the ideas and proposals from the Telangana’s dynamic leader who is progressing miles ahead, the leaders in the neighboring state are stagnating the progress and development as they are busy slinging mud against each other with discrepancies in coronavirus relief programs, elections, and English medium controversies.

The cause and manner of his death is still pending with the medical examiner. The Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department. While it seems that the deaths are the result of a murder-suicide, the final determination is pending till the complete findings of the regional medical examiner’s office.
