The state government has issued orders instructing organizations to issues passes only to employees and no one else, including senior citizens, pregnant women, and people having underlying medical conditions. It was also instructed that exact dates and timings should be mentioned on the COVID-19 duty passes.

Additionally, if employees live in containment clusters, passes will not be issued to them. Also, as per norms, if the house of the person falls within a three km radius of containment zone, duty pass should not be issued.

The passes are issued by organizations to employees to provide to police personnel if commuters are stopped. The pass proforma includes the name of the employee, address of the office, date, working hours, and routes. The pass is signed by the head of the department of the organization and with the official stamp of the organization.

The government has also ordered organizations to sanitize their premises and ensure that all employees follow social distancing norms. The norms rolled out by the general administration department also mandates that meetings shall only be done via video conference. Ensuring at least six feet distance from employee to employee and ensuring there are no gatherings in the cafeteria were also part of rules that need to be followed.

The number of Covid-19 cases in India

The number of Covid-19 cases in India continues to rise every day. Thirty-three of the country’s 36 states and Union Territories have reported Covid-19 cases so far. While the central government maintains that community transmission has yet not taken place in India so far, the number of Covid-19 cases in India has crossed the 20,000 mark. More than 600 people have died due to novel coronavirus, while close to 4,000 have recovered.

The past few weeks have seen a significant spike in Covid-19 cases in India, with Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh emerging as hotspots. Covid-19 cases in Telangana

The number of Covid-19 cases in Telangana crossed 900 with as many as 56 more people testing positive on Tuesday.

According to a bulletin by the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare, here on Tuesday, the total number of cases rose to 928. No death was reported and thus toll remained at 23.

Eight patients were discharged after recovery, taking the number of recovered persons to 194. The number of active cases stands at 711.

In a departure from the recent trend, Greater Hyderabad reported fewer cases than districts. Suryapet topped Tuesday’s list with 26 cases. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits saw 19 new cases.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has asked senior officials to visit the districts to assess implementation of the government decisions to prevent spread of coronavirus.

Old Man Recovered From Covid-19 positive

A 62-year-old woman from Kerala, who remained in hospital for 45 days after she tested positive for the novel coronavirus, was finally discharged on Wednesday.The woman from Vadaserikkara village in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta first tested on March 9 and remained Covid-19 positive in the next 19 tests.

She was admitted in Kozhechery District Hospital along with her daughter after they came in contact with an NRI family from Italy who had arrived on February 29. While the daughter recovered and was discharged on April 1, her mother’s results showed she was still infected.

Dr Abey Sushan, National Health Mission Coordinator, Pathanamthitta, said the 20th test result was found to be negative. Her case with probably the longest period of recovery from Covid-19 infection has baffled the medical community. “She is a stable patient with no complex medical history. We were worried about her status of being a positive patient for long,” Dr Abey Sushan old Indiatoday.in.

The patient only had a medical history of high blood pressure and cholesterol level. “We compared the recovery of such Covid patients with her treatment protocol. But we could not reach a conclusion about her medical status,” Dr Abey said.

Doctors view that the strain of Covid-19 infected her could have a longer incubation period.As of Wednesday, Kerala has recorded 426 infections with 117 undergoing treatment. As many as 306 patients have already recovered.Kerala has directed district administrations to maintain high surveillance on hotspots as the number infections in Kannur has shown a spike with 10 new infections on April 21.

Father killed his Own Daughter

A two-and-a half-year-old girl was killed by her father, apparently acting on the advice of a self-styled godman to gain spiritual powers, and the body dumped in a forest area here, police said on Monday.

The father, identified only as Wajid, and self-styled godman Irfan were arrested and the body was recovered, SHO of Kakroli police station Vijay Bahadur Singh said.

A case was registered under sections 302, 201 and 120B of the IPC based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, Rihana Begum, he said.

According to the FIR, Wajid took the girl to a nearby field on Sunday night where he allegedly strangled her and slit her throat on Irfan’s advice. He then dumped the body.
