An algorithm based on artificial intelligence (AI) has been developed by researchers to identify atrial fibrillation, or irregular heart rhythm, in individuals who do not exhibit symptoms.

An irregular and frequently extremely fast heart rhythm known as atrial fibrillation (arrhythmia) can cause blood clots within the heart. It raises the risk of heart failure, stroke, and other heart-related issues.

The algorithm, which found hidden signals in common medical diagnostic tests, may help doctors better prevent strokes and other cardiovascular complications in patients with the most common type of heart rhythm disorder, according to the Smidt Heart Institute team at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

According to experts, around one in three patients with atrial fibrillation are unaware that they have the disorder.

The electrical impulses in the heart that control the flow of blood from the upper chambers to the lower chambers are disorganized in atrial fibrillation.

An ischemic stroke may result from blood pooling in the upper chambers and forming blood clots that go to the brain. Researchers used an artificial intelligence tool to analyse trends in ECG data in order to construct the algorithm.

A test that tracks the electrical impulses coming from the heart is called an electrocardiogram. Electrodes that measure cardiac electrical activity are placed to test patients’ bodies.

The software was trained to analyze ECG data gathered from January 1, 1987, to December 31, 2022. After studying over a million ECGs, the system correctly predicted that patients will get atrial fibrillation in less than 31 days.

Using artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality, Lens in Maps (previously known as Search with Live View) enables users to utilize their phone’s camera to find new locations and get their bearings in an unfamiliar neighborhood.

In order to improve accessibility and utility for those with low vision or blindness, Lens in Maps will soon support screen readers on iOS devices starting this Tuesday and Android devices later in the year.

“You can obtain stair-free routes when you request walking directions in Maps,” explained Andersson. “The option to request wheelchair-accessible pathways is rolling out worldwide on iOS and Android wherever we have data available.”

Two days ago, a Hyderabad woman lost her life in a car accident in Kansas, USA.

Pratiksha Kunwar, a 22-year-old Narayanguda hyderabad native, was a student in Wichita State University’s MBA program in Kansas. Local sources state that the incident occurred on Sunday evening at around 7 p.m. near the intersection of 21st Street North and 391st Street West, which is located just southeast of the lake. An eastbound Nissan Sentra failed to stop at the stop sign, causing it to crash with a northbound Chevy Tahoe.

Pratiksha Kunwar, a passenger in the Nissan, passed away in a nearby hospital. In Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, a woman allegedly killed her two-year-old niece by strangulation after she cried continuously and refused to go to sleep, according to police on Tuesday.

The incident happened on Monday within the boundaries of Hanumantal Police Station in the Rajiv Nagar neighborhood, and an official stated that the suspect has been taken into custody.

According to M Dwivedi, the in-charge of the Hanumantal Police Station, the victim—a Mohammed Shakeel daughter—went missing in the afternoon. After failing to locate the child, family members searched for her and called the police, he added.

After scouring the area’s CCTV footage, Dwivedi indicated that no information on the missing girl could be located. Subsequently, when the police searched her father’s house for the toddler, they discovered her body dead behind a set of sofas, he added.

Shakeel shares a home with his brothers, according to the police officer. The victim went to her paternal aunt’s room, on Monday afternoon. After having dinner together, the toddler’s aunt advised her to go see her mother as she was tired, stated Dwivedi.

The accused slapped the girl when she refused to leave the room. He said that as the girl started to cry continuously, her aunt got angry and killed her by strangling her, hiding the body behind the sofa set. The police officer said, “The accused woman has been arrested and booked for murder.”

Good news for govt employees, Centre Approves Diwali Bonus

The Diwali bonus was reinstated by the Modi governance on Tuesday for its group C, group D, and some group B employee categories. According to a record from the Finance Ministry’s Department of Expenditure, bonuses will be given to Group C, Group D, and contractual personnel this year if they meet specific service requirements.


According to these regulations, a diwali bonus can only be paid up to Rs 7,000 every month of income. The central paramilitary and armed forces’ qualifying staff will also be eligible for the a reward. According to reports, the Centre would probably make the announcement on the DA/DR increment for Central Employees and Pensioners before Diwali.


Employees who were working as of March 31, 2021, and who had at least six months of continuous employment during the fiscal year 2020–2021 would be qualified for this ad hoc bonus, per the rule. For 2022–2023, the Finance Ministry has also set a limit of Rs 7,000 for the calculation of non–productivity linked bonuses (ad hoc bonuses) for central government employees.

The Finance Ministry’s Department of Expenditure announced earlier today that all non-gazetted employees in Group B and all central government employees in Group C, who are not covered by any productivity-linked bonus schemes, have each been given a non-productivity linked bonus (ad hoc bonus) equivalent to 30 days’ worth of pay for the accounting year 2022–2023 so far.
