PM in Rajasthan, will offer prayers at Malaseri Dungri

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Malaseri Dungri in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara on Saturday. He will come to Udaipur, from where he will take a helicopter to Malaseri Dungri and will have a darshan of Lord Devnarayan on temple premises.

“Here he will give purnahuti in havan and will plant a neem sapling which will be followed by a public meeting,” said Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.

Meghwal said that before PM Modi, no Prime Minister ever visited Malaseri Dungri.

Meghwal said that this visit of PM Modi is absolutely religious. The PM has a visionary approach to preserving the religious heritage of major places in the country.

Modi, as per the schedule, will reach Dabok airport at 10.30 a.m., and at 10.35 a.m., he will depart for Malaseri via helicopter. At 11.25 a.m. he will reach Malaseri and he will be here from 11.30 a.m. to 12.55 p.m. He will offer prayers and will address a huge gathering during this phase before leaving for Delhi.

Indian-American loses election to head Republican Party after challenging establishment

0

Chandigarh-born Harmeet Dhillon has lost her bid to head the Republican National Committee (RNC) despite a spirited fight against the US party’s establishment that drew broad support.

The current RNC chair Ronna McDaniels was re-elected on Friday at the Committee’s meeting in California despite criticism for having led the party through three successive defeats and an underperformance.

Dhillon, who polled 51 votes to McDaniel’s 111 in the 168-member RNC, ran a grassroots campaign that brought out the discontent in the ranks of the party that must face a presidential election next year.

After the election, Dhillon said” “At the end of the day, if our party is perceived as totally out of touch with the grassroots, which I think some may take away from this outcome, we have some work to do.”

The Republican Party has two high-profile women with roots in Punjab — Dhillon, who proudly broadcasts it with the Twitter handle “@pnjaban”; and Nikki Haley, the first Indian-American to be on the US Cabinet, who has said is “looking in a serious way” a run for the party’s presidential nomination.

The run-up to the RNC election was marred by allegations that McDaniels’s supporters had run a whispering campaign against Dhillon based on her Sikh faith.

Dhillon tweeted during the campaign: “No amount of threats to me or my team, or bigoted attacks on my faith traceable directly to associates of the chair, will deter me from advancing positive change at the RNC.”

McDaniels condemned the efforts to use religion against Dhillon citing her own membership in the minority Mormon faith that is often portrayed negatively.

Dhillon received the support of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a rising figure in the party and a likely challenger to former President Donald Trump for the party’s presidential nomination next year.

Endorsing Dhillon, DeSantis said in an interview with the leader of a conservative group within the party, “I think we need to get some new blood in the RNC”.

With McDaniels as chair, the party lost the House of Representatives in 2018 and Senate and the presidential election in 2020 and underperformed in the mid-term elections last year whipping up criticism of the leadership..

Dhillon had picked up support from two state committees, Nevada and Washington, the heads of the party in four states and from several high-profile party donors, as well as media figures influential within the party.

Trump who had connections to both McDaniels and Dhillon stayed neutral in the open, but according to some media reports secretly backed the incumbent.

He had picked McDaniels in 2017 to head the RNC, while Dhillon was one of his lawyers during the last presidential election and the House probe into the January 2021 Capitol riots.

McDaniel is seen as closely aligned herself with Trump and while Dhillon has not openly gone against him, she repudiated Trump’s continued claim that he was the rightful winner in 2020.

But many conservative diehard Trump supporters backed Dhillon and this may have turned off some of the moderate voters.

According to Politico, many had reservations in particular about one “firebrand conservative figure” Charlie Kirk who they feared might exert influence on the party if she were elected.

Dhillon immigrated to the US as a child and said a Sikh prayer at the opening of a session of the RNC in 2016 — the first time a non-Abrahamic religion figured in a national party convention.

Dhillon, whose law practice takes on discrimination cases, mainly by conservatives, has been associated with the American Civil Liberties Union, which is reviled by many Republicans.

Apple developing iOS 17: Report

0

Apple is reportedly developing its iOS 17 software update and other new updates that will be released this year.

Some of the tech giant’s open-source documentation referencing iOS 17 has received updates, reports 9To5Mac.

Every year, the company starts adding references to upcoming iOS, macOS, and watchOS upgrades to its various open-source repositories.

Future versions are frequently referred to as “TBA” by the iPhone maker in order to hide their actual version numbers.

The following operating systems are expected to be introduced at Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June this year– iOS 17, macOS 14, watchOS 10, iPadOS 17, and tvOS 17.

The release of the company’s Reality Pro headset, which will give the company’s lineup a fully new operating system, is expected to coincide with the updates this year.

However, the tech giant has not yet revealed the dates for WWDC and it is still unclear whether the conference will be a hybrid in-person and virtual event like last year or a completely in-person event, the report said.

Record rainfall overnight in Auckland causes massive flooding

0

Record rainfall from Friday morning through overnight to Saturday morning in Auckland has caused massive flooding across the biggest city in New Zealand.

The country’s national meteorological service, MetService, issued Red Heavy Rain Warning for the Auckland area overnight and recorded 249mm of rain in 24 hours until 1 a.m. Saturday.

The record rainfall has caused massive flooding to houses and properties, forcing the closure of State Highway 1 and the Auckland Airport. One person was found dead in a flood in North Shore, Auckland.

Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown has announced a state of emergence overnight. Three evacuation centers were established to accommodate people affected by the rain and flood, Xinhua news agency reported.

Prime Minister Chris Hipkins addressed the nation at the National Crisis Management Centre in Wellington at 2 a.m. on Saturday and is heading to Auckland first light in the morning.

“When the rain hit, it hit very hard and very fast… Aucklanders need to brace for the fact there could be more rain. This is quite unprecedented,” Hipkins said.

“It’s still difficult to determine the extent of the flooding and how many people are displaced,” Hipkins added.

The previous 24-hour record of rainfall was 161.8mm, dating back to February 1985, according to MetService. MetService Red Warnings are only issued for the most significant weather events. This is the first red warning of 2023, said MetService.

Nepal’s Home Minister loses citizenship battle

0

Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Rabi Lamichhane, accused of holding dual Nepali and American citizenship, on Friday lost the citizenship battle, as the Supreme Court annulled his status as a lawmaker.

A constitutional bench, headed by Acting Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki and comprising Justices Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha, Ishwar Khatiwada, Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, and Anil Sinha, held that the citizenship certificate he produced to contest the parliamentary election was invalid.

Lamichhane, a former media person, entered politics last June by forming a new party, Rastriya Swatantra Party, which won 14 seats in the recent elections.

On December 14, advocates Yubaraj Poudel and Rabiraj Basaula filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court arguing that Lamichhane cannot become a member of parliament because he doesn’t have Nepali citizenship.

The petitioners demanded that Lamichhane should be removed from the post of party chief, contending that only Nepali citizens have a constitutional right to vote in the elections, become candidates, and set up political parties in the country. The petitioners had contended that Lamichhane’s positions as a member of the lower house and party President were illegal.

The writ petitioners had also demanded that the Supreme Court issued an interim order to stop Lamichhane from working as a lawmaker until the final court verdict. During an initial hearing on the case on January 6, the apex court had refused to issue an interim order, opting to decide the issue through a final verdict.

Section 10 of the Citizenship Act says any Nepali citizen who voluntarily acquires citizenship of any foreign country will automatically lose Nepali citizenship.

Lamichhane, a media person by profession, returned to Nepal a few months after becoming an American citizen and started working here.

After four years, a complaint was lodged with the Press Council of Nepal saying that he was working in Nepal without a work permit. A foreign national needs a permit to work in Nepal. Only after the criticism did Lamichhane, in May 2018, abandon their American citizenship and its proof was presented to the Department of Immigration.

He, however, never applied to reclaim his citizenship. Lamichhane’s lawyers had argued that as he never renounced Nepali citizenship, his citizenship from 1994 got automatically revived the day he surrendered American citizenship.

The Citizenship Act, however, doesn’t say so. Section 11 says if any citizen of Nepal, who has acquired foreign citizenship, returns to reside in Nepal and submits a notification to the designated authority the evidence of renunciation of foreign citizenship, his/her Nepali citizenship shall be provided again once he/she submits the evidence of renunciation.

An application needs to be submitted to the respective office to reclaim Nepali citizenship as per the Act and its regulation.

Clause 11 of the regulations of the Act says the person who has renounced foreign citizenship should apply to the Ministry of Home Affairs or the District Administration Office concerned. The authority concerned, after studying the application, would issue the citizenship of Nepal containing the same details mentioned in the previous document. The copy of the citizenship Lamichhane had produced to file the nomination was issued in 1994.

Hockey World Cup: Late-blooming Germany ride Peillat hat-trick to stun Australia 4-3, reach final

0

Argentine-turned-German Gonzalo Peillat struck a second-half hat-trick and Niklas Wellen scored a last-minute goal as Germany fought back from a two-goal deficit to stun World No. 1 Australia 4-3 and reach the final of the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup, here on Friday.

With drag flicker Jeremy Hayward (11th min) and Nathan Ephraums (26th min) scoring a goal in each of the first two quarters, Australia looked on course to win the first semifinal with a 2-0 lead at half-time.

But Peillat, who switched allegiance to Germany just before the Tokyo Olympics and did not play international hockey for three years, struck with his drag-flick in the 42nd minute to reduce the margin and then leveled the scores in the 51st minute to pull Germany, who dominated the second half, level 2-2.

Forward Blake Govers converted a penalty corner in the 57th minute to give Australia a 3-2 lead and once again it looked like the three-time winner’s Kookaburras were on their way to their sixth final with three minutes remaining on the clock.

But Peillat pulled Germany level again, converting another penalty corner in the 58th minute to complete his hat-trick.

And then Niklas Wellen stunned the Aussies by scoring the winner in the 59th minute, sealing a memorable victory for Germany. A yellow card to Australia’s Top Craig (five-minute suspension) in the 59th minute too helped the Honamas prevail 4-3 at the Kalinga Stadium here.

This is Germany’s fourth appearance in the men’s Hockey World Cup final and they will be taking on the winner of the second semifinal between defending champions Belgium and World No. 3 the Netherlands, hoping to win their third title to add to the ones they bagged in 2002 and 2006.

Australia earned five penalty corners and converted two of them. Germany earned 13 penalty corners of which they converted three.

Australian Open: Djokovic overcomes Paul to set No.1 showdown with Tsitsipas in final

0

Novak Djokovic inched closer to a record-extending 10th Australian Open title after he overcame a sluggish start to defeat Tommy Paul 7-5, 6-1, 6-2 in the semifinals at Melbourne Park, here on Friday.

Djokovic’s two-hour and 20-minute win set up a championship match clash against Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas, who earlier defeated Karen Khachanov 7-6(2), 6-4, 6-7(6), 6-3.

Sunday’s final will also be a straight shootout for No. 1 in the ATP Rankings, with the winner set to leapfrog Carlos Alcaraz into the top spot on Monday.

“I have strong memories of 15 years ago, but I wouldn’t have imagined things to have turned out as they have. I’m so blessed and grateful, marveling and cherishing every moment,” Djokovic said after the match.

“My level is great, it’s perfect. It’s 110 percent. Stefanos, see you in two days! Of course, you’re not as fresh as in the beginning, but we put in a lot of hours throughout the off-season into fitness to be in a good enough condition to play best of five,” he added.

The Serbian struggled to find his best level at times during his maiden tour-level meeting with the American. Despite dropping four straight games from 5-1 to let Paul back into the opening set on Rod Laver Arena, Djokovic ultimately converted seven of 11 break points to move within one win of equalling Rafael Nadal’s tally of 22 major titles.

Djokovic was comfortable throughout the majority of his clash with Paul. The only exception was an uncharacteristic lapse in the first set when Paul took advantage of a flurry of uncharacteristically wayward groundstrokes from the Serbian to recover a double-break deficit and level at 5-5.

In spite of hitting 24 unforced errors in the opening set, Djokovic regained his composure to claim it, with some clinical groundstrokes earning him a decisive break in the 12th game. He carried that momentum through to dominate the second and third sets, winning the first four games of both to deny his less-experienced opponent any opportunity to settle.

“I know what’s expected of me. Experience helps, but on the court, moment to moment, it’s a great battle between yourself and your opponent. You can feel the long rallies; we both had heavy legs. I held my nerves at the end of the first set; that was a key moment where I started swinging through the ball more,” the Serbian added.

‘Pathaan’ makes history, collects Rs 219.6 cr worldwide in two days

The ‘Badshah’ of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release ‘Pathaan’, directed by Siddharth Anand, has emerged as a historic hit as it clocked another century plus day and registered Rs. 113.6 crores gross on Day 2, taking the total worldwide collection to an astronomical Rs. 219.6 crores gross.

On Day 2, ‘Pathaan’ collected Rs. 68 crore nett in the Hindi format, while its dubbed formats earned 2.5 crore nett.

The total India collection on Day 2 was 70.50 crore nett (82.94 crore gross). It thus became the first Hindi film to breach the 70 crore nett collection in a single day. Meanwhile, the overseas collection was also incredible as it collected 30.70 crore gross.

‘Pathaan’ created more history on its second day when it beat its own record for the highest day ever which it set on the opening day — Rs. 55 crores in Hindi format + Rs. 2 crores in dubbed formats — amounting to a total of Rs. 57 crore nett on Day 1.

Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, says, “As an industry, we are rejoicing today. This is the most important sentiment emerging out of Pathaan’s success.”

“All of us at Yash Raj Films are grateful for the incredibly humbling support from media, audiences, and the industry towards Pathaan. It is this unanimous love for the film that has resulted in Pathaan shattering all existing records and creating new ones. We are happy that the film has entertained everyone in such an immersive manner.”

He adds, “We share this moment with the entire team of Pathaan including our director Siddharth Anand, the superstars of our nation Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, and every single person who has tirelessly worked in making Pathaan the gigantic success story that it has become today. Indians globally are celebrating the film and SRK’s return to the cinemas.”

“It’s really special for us to witness this outpouring of warmth. We are overwhelmed as a team and we can only thank everyone for their belief in us as a team.”

1st T20I: India win toss, elect to bowl first against New Zealand in Ranchi

0

India captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first against New Zealand in the first T20I of the three-match series at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi, here on Friday.

“Looks like a very good track. The reason behind the decision to bowl first is that the ground is going to get quite wet, I can see some dew now. Just go out there and play the best cricket we know.”

“It’s a young side, everyone’s ready to go. We will focus on playing good cricket. Playing the ODIs before T20Is makes it easy to pass on. For a lot of them, it is an experience just being on the team. Yuzi (Yuzvendra Chahal), Mukesh (Kumar), Jitesh (Sharma), and Prithvi (Shaw) miss out,” Hardik said at the toss.

On the other hand, left-arm spin all-rounder Mitchell Santner is taking over the New Zealand captaincy from Tom Latham in T20Is as visitors search for their first win on the tour after being beaten 3-0 in the ODI series.

“There’s no experience like playing India at their home. Would be a challenge for some of the new guys. It would have been nice to bowl first but we will try to put some runs on the board. Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls are done. Ish Sodhi is back in, and Mark Chapman as well,” said Santner.

In the pitch report, it was noted by commentators Ajit Agarkar and Danny Morrison that the track in Ranchi is hard with an even covering of the grass and opined that the ball could skid on, with a little bit of help with the new ball for the bowlers.

Playing XIs:

India:

Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Rahul Tripathi, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya (captain), Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Shivam Mavi, Kuldeep Yadav, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh.

New Zealand:

Finn Allen, Devon Conway (wicketkeeper), Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner (captain), Michael Bracewell, Jacob Duffy, Ish Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson, and Blair Tickner.

RBI Governor says current account deficit ’eminently manageable’

0

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das on Friday said that the current account deficit is “eminently manageable” and within the parameters of viability.

He also emphasized that in the current hostile and uncertain international environment, the Indian economy remains resilient, drawing strength from its macroeconomic fundamentals.

“Our financial system remains robust and stable. Banks and corporates are healthier than before the crisis. Bank credit is growing by double digits. India is widely seen as a bright spot in an otherwise gloomy world. Our inflation remains elevated, but there has been a welcome softening during November and December 2022. Core inflation, however, remains sticky and elevated,” he said while delivering a keynote address at the 22nd Fixed Income Money Market and Derivatives Association of India- Primary Dealers Association of India’s (FIMMDA-PDAI) annual conference in Dubai.

“Despite slowing global demand weighing on merchandise exports, India’s exports of services and remittances remain strong. The net balance under services and remittances remains in a large surplus, partly offsetting the trade deficit,” he said.

The average current account deficit to GDP ratio stood at 3.3 percent during the first half of the current fiscal, while the slowing demand is weighing on merchandise exports, Das said, adding that at the same time “our exports of services and remittances remain strong. The net balance under services and remittances remains in a large surplus, partly offsetting the trade deficit”.

Das further noted that in the aftermath of multiple shocks, the global economy is projected to contract significantly in 2023, adding at the same time that “the worst for the global economy, both in terms of growth and inflation, seems to be behind us”.

Lately, with some ebbing of Covid-related restrictions and cooling of inflation in various countries, though still elevated, central banks have started what appears to be a pivot toward lower rate hikes or pauses. At the same time, they continue to emphatically reiterate their resolve to bring inflation down closer to targets.”

On the growth front, the RBI Governor noted that projections are now veering around to a softer recession as against a severe and more widespread recession projected a few months back.

Stressing the need to strengthen bilateral trade relations to deal with global supply-chain shocks, he said that India has recently signed bilateral trade agreements with the UAE and Australia and more such agreements are works in progress.

He also said that the net FDI flows remain strong and foreign portfolio flows have resumed since July 2022, with intermittent outflows from time to time.

“The size of forex reserves is comfortable and has gone up from $524 billion on October 21, 2022, to $572 billion as on January 13, 2023. Further, India’s external debt ratios are low by international standards. This has enabled the Reserve Bank to eschew measures to control capital flows and take steps to further internationalize the domestic currency, even during episodes of significant capital outflows,” he said.

Referring to the ever-depreciating trajectory of the rupee, Das said that the currency’s performance in terms of volatility remained “impressive”.

“For example, the one-month implied volatility of the rupee touched a high of 25 percent during the global financial crisis on October 10, 2008, and 20 percent during the taper tantrum period on August 29, 2013. During the Covid-19 pandemic, however, the implied volatility peaked at 10 percent on March 24, 2020, and has remained well anchored thereafter, despite the uncertainties associated with the war and monetary tightening by major central banks,” he said.

Commenting on the global scenario, Das said that the global economy is still marred by shocks and uncertainty. Financial markets remain volatile and the geopolitical situation continues to be tense. International food, energy, and commodity prices have eased but uncertainties do remain. Inflation remains high and broad-based across countries. The IMF has projected contractions in over one-third of the global economy.

Trolls say Kangana’s films haven’t made as much as ‘Pathaan’ did on Day 1

Actress Kangana Ranaut has been trolled on social media for slamming superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film ‘Pathaan’.

Kangana has strongly spoken against the content of the film. Kangana has pointed out the negative aspects of the film.

She wrote on Twitter: ” All those who are claiming Pathaan is a triumph of love over hate, I agree but whose love over whose hate? Let’s be precise, who is buying tickets and making it a success? Yes, it is India’s love and inclusiveness where eighty percent of Hindus live, and yet a film called Pathaan.”

However, this did not go down well with the fans as she first praised the film and then took a U-turn.

A fan went on to tell her that the one-day earning of ‘Pathaan’ is her lifetime earnings.

Known for being vocal, Kangana replied to the user: “Nimo bhai I don’t have any earnings left.”

“I have put my house my office every single thing that I owned on a mortgage just to make a film which will celebrate the Constitution of India and our love for this great nation paise toh sabhi kama lete hain aisa koi hai jo aise udai.”

Suryakumar Yadav doing it better than anyone’s ever done it right now: Ricky Ponting

0

Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has heaped praise on India’s in-form middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav, saying the right-handed batter is doing better “than anyone’s ever done it”.

Suryakumar, the top-ranked batter in T20Is, was recently named the winner of the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2022 award for becoming just the second batter to score more than 1000 runs in a year in the format with his astonishing 360-degree strokeplay.

He was the highest run-getter in T20Is in 2022, scoring 1,164 runs at a ridiculous strike rate of 187.43, averaging 46.56. His tally of 68 sixes in 2022 is the highest anyone has hit in the format in a year by a fair distance.

“He’s probably doing it better than anyone’s ever done it right now. We talk about players that can score 360 degrees some of the shots he’s hitting back behind the wicket-keeper and over fine leg are just remarkable.”

“Five or six years ago, he started doing that a lot in the IPL. He was very good at flicking the ball over the deep-backward square and getting the ball over fine-leg. Surya’s now been able to hit short balls on the way up and flick short balls over the keeper’s head and they’re going for six, not just for four,” said Ponting in the latest episode of The ICC Review show.

Suryakumar had lit up the 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia, slamming 239 runs at an outstanding average of 59.75 and a whopping strike rate of 189.68, including match-tempo changing fifties against South Africa, Zimbabwe, and the Netherlands.

“I think innovation-wise, skill-wise, I haven’t seen a better player in the game. What it’s going to do as well, a lot of other players are going to try and do the things he’s doing and it’s going to add another level of skill to the T20 game all around the world.”

“Someone said during the IPL this year (to be held in 2023) there are going to be guys who are going to try and do exactly the same as what Surya’s doing, and that’s going to be great for the game,” added Ponting.

With India’s three T20Is against New Zealand starting from Friday in Ranchi, Suryakumar is now within striking distance of the record of 915 points set by England left-hander Dawid Malan in November 2020.

Ponting signed off by saying that the current time is the fittest he has ever seen of Suryakumar. “I didn’t think he’d get to the level he’s got to, to be quite honest. He’s worked as hard as he has – you can probably tell by his body shape.”

“He’s probably fitter than he’s ever been, being around the Indian set-up with the likes of (Virat) Kohli and Shreyas Iyer and these guys, who are exceptionally fit young guys. To have those guys leading the way for him, he’s turned into an incredibly good player.”

Earth to have close encounter with small asteroid this week

0

An asteroid, about the size of a box truck, will have a very close encounter with the Earth this week, NASA Systems has predicted.

The asteroid, called Asteroid 2023, is expected to fly over South America. During its flight, the asteroid is predicted to be only 2,200 miles above Earth’s surface, making it the closest in recorded history, according to NASA.

However, the space agency said that there is no risk of the asteroid impacting Earth, and even if it did, the small asteroid, which is estimated to be 11.5 to 28 feet (3.5 to 8.5 meters) across, would disintegrate harmlessly in the atmosphere, with some of the larger debris potentially falling as small meteorites.

The asteroid was initially spotted by amateur astronomer Gennadiy Borisov on Saturday and reported to the Minor Planet Center (MPC).

NASA’s Scout impact hazard assessment system was then used to analyze MPC’s data and predict the near miss.

“Scout quickly ruled out 2023 BU as an impactor, but despite the very few observations, it was nonetheless able to predict that the asteroid would make an extraordinarily close approach with Earth,” Davide Farnocchia, a navigation engineer at JPL who developed Scout, said in a statement.

“In fact, this is one of the closest approaches by a known near-Earth object ever recorded,” he added.

Although this asteroid poses no threat to Earth, NASA has been focusing on building planetary defenses against them.

Google may release Pixel Tablet Pro with Tensor G2 chip

0

Tech giant Google will reportedly release a Pro version of its upcoming Pixel Tablet, which will feature a Tensor G2 chip.

According to leaker Kuba Wojciechowski, the tech giant initially started working on a tablet using the original Tensor chip but this project was then allegedly canceled as the company began working on a tablet that used Tensor G2 instead, reports Android Authority.

The first device is expected to be the Pixel Tablet and the second device is likely to be the one coming to market this year, which might be the Pro model.

The leaker also mentioned that the only difference between the two devices is likely to be the chip powering them.

Last month, Wojciechowski discovered a device called “TangorPro” in the Google Camera Go application’s code.

As “Tangor” is believed to be the codename for the Pixel Tablet, “TangorPro” strongly indicated a Pro variant of the Pixel Tablet.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Pixel Tablet and its charging speaker dock have been leaked on Facebook Marketplace, a destination on Facebook where people can buy and sell items.
