The state’s exports have increased from Rs 88,000 crore to more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore during the Yogi government’s tenure and ODOP has played a significant role in this, the spokesman said.

MSME and export promotion additional chief secretary Navneet Sehgal said that the portal serves as an interface between consumers and artisans, wherein the latter will be able to sell their items directly to the consumers.

Sehgal added that the government has already tied up with e-commerce platforms such as Flipkart and Amazon India to ensure seamless delivery of the items to buyers and promote ODOP products across the country and also globally.

He further said that more and more artisans and ODOP producers in Uttar Pradesh are registering with the e-commerce platform and also benefitting from it in as they can sell their products directly to the consumers.

‘Tamil Rockerz’ will have a small opening for a sequel, discloses Arun Vijay

0

Actor Arun Vijay, who plays police officer Rudra in director Arivazhagan’s much-awaited Tamil web series, ‘Tamil Rockerz’, which is to release on OTT on August 19 this year, has disclosed that the series will have a small opening for a sequel.

Inspired by real-life events, the fictional series, that has been produced by one of India’s oldest and most respected production houses, A V M Productions, will revolve around Rudra’s efforts to safeguard a massively budgeted and highly-anticipated movie called ‘Garuda’ from an anonymous network of powerful and dangerous cyber pirates.

The series, many believe, is inspired by a video pirate gang that often had the audacity to challenge Tamil film units. The pirates would ask film units to stop them if they could from releasing pirated versions of their films. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the web series has triggered huge interest in viewers, many of whom are curious to know who eventually was behind the big piracy network.

Ask Arun Vijay if they eventually show who is behind the operation of such a big piracy network and he replies, “This is Season One. There is an open end. There will be finishing but there will also be a small opening for a sequel. You will get to know when you watch the series.”

The actor says working on the series has helped him gain a better understanding of how video pirates operate.

Says Arun Vijay, “After playing this role in this web series, I have gained a better understanding of how video pirates operate. For that matter, after watching this series, everybody will get to understand where this is heading. I think we will take precautionary measures to handle this issue. Ultimately, the power to tackle this problem rests with the person watching pirated stuff. Everyone should get the thought that they must not watch pirated videos. That will eventually happen after watching this series.”

Sources say director Arivazhagan and his team did extensive research into how video pirates operate for the series.

Talking about the challenges of working on this series, Arun Vijay says, “Every film has a different kind of challenge. This film speaks in detail about a network. I think half the challenge was overcome by the director and writer. It was easy for me as they made me understand several things.” Disclosing that the series was shot for a period of 55 days, Arun Vijay says he shot on all the days and that every day, he had a double call sheet.

Anybody who set out to put out an end to the piracy menace has received several threats.

Did Arun Vijay get any threats while playing the lead in this series? “No, I haven’t received any such threats,” he signs off with a smile that indicates relief.

It will air on SonyLIV

Report: Musk sells nearly $7 billion in Tesla shares

0

Electric vehicle company Tesla CEO Elon Musk has sold 7.92 million shares of the company worth around $6.88 billion, media reports say.

Musk’s transactions occurred between August 5 and August 9, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings revealed, following Tesla’s 2022 annual shareholder meeting on August 4 in Austin, Texas, reports CNBC.

Earlier this year, the tech billionaire said on social media that he had “no further Tesla sales planned” after April 28.

That week, SEC filings revealed Musk had been selling a block of shares in his electric car maker worth about $8.4 billion.

Musk is in the middle of a contentious legal battle with Twitter, the social networking giant he agreed to acquire in April for about $44 billion or $54.20 per share.

Amid an overall market decline, Twitter’s share price and the price of Tesla shares dropped. Musk said he was terminating the deal and accused Twitter of failing to give him all the information he needed to go ahead with the acquisition.

He also accused Twitter of understating the number of bots, spam, and fake accounts on its platform.

Google’s learn-to-read app for kids now available as website

0

Tech giant Google has introduced a new website — Read Along to help kids learn to read independently with the help of an animated reading assistant named “Diya”.

Read Along has been an Android app so far, which was first released as Bolo in India in 2019 and released globally as Read Along the following year.

“To make it accessible to more users, we have launched the public beta of the website version,” Tasnim Khan Software Engineer, Read Along, said in a blog post.

“The website contains the same magic: Diya’s help and hundreds of well-illustrated stories across several languages,” Khan added.

With the web version, parents can let their children use Read Along on bigger screens by logging into a browser from smartphones, laptops, or PCs at readalong.google.com.

Just like the Android app, all the speech recognition happens in the browser, so children’s voice data remains private and we do not send it to any servers.

The company said that as kids read stories aloud, Diya listens and gives both correctional and encouraging feedback to help kids develop their reading skills.

British lawmaker warns people not to become ‘desensitised’ on Ukraine

0

British Conservative peer and former party leader William Hague of Richmond has warned of the “danger of getting desensitised” to Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Amid the Tory leadership contest, the former Foreign Secretary described Russia’s actions as the “main thing happening and the threat to everybody’s security and economic prosperity”.

He told Times Radio: “Imagine if there hadn’t been a Ukraine war, that if suddenly terrorists had taken over one of the biggest nuclear power plants in Europe and were stacking explosives around it and starting to shell people from it that would be the biggest news in the world, it would be what everybody in Europe would be talking about.

“We’re getting so used to “oh, there’s a war going on over there” that when that happens, the Russians are firing from around that plant, to put explosives and mines there, potentially, a potential nuclear catastrophe, in the view of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it’s not such big news any more, is it?”

“I mean, it is on the news, but it’s not dominating things, so this sort of getting desensitised to the war is a dangerous thing because it is the main thing happening and the threat to everybody’s security and economic prosperity, in the end.”

Hague cautioned Europe against appeasement, warning that Russian President Vladimir Putin “will come back for more,” the DPA news agency reported.

He added: “We won’t solve anything in our own domestic situation if we lose the will to support a country that is struggling for its own democracy, fighting for its own territory. There’s a danger here that some people might think (in) Britain or perhaps more so in Italy, Germany, France, that this problem can be bought off.”

“Really, the point is it can’t be bought off because if you buy it off, Putin will come back for more, and we have learnt through history that this can be a terrible error, appeasing a dictator.”

“So we do have to — I’m raising this argument because I think there is a danger of people forgetting the main thing that’s happening and the dangers that it presents over the coming months.”

According to UK Defence Intelligence, Russia’s actions have “likely undermined the security and safety” of operations at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.

The Ministry of Defence earlier raised concerns regarding the Zaporizhzhia facility, which was taken over by Russian troops in March shortly after the February 24 invasion of Ukraine. UN Nuclear Chief Rafael Grossi last week said the power plant in the south-eastern Ukrainian city of Enerhodar is “completely out of control”.

In a phone call on Tuesday afternoon, Boris Johnson and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed on the importance of not allowing “western war fatigue” to disrupt efforts to support Ukraine.

A Downing Street spokesperson said: “On Ukraine, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and President Macron both stressed the importance of the international community continuing to support the people of Ukraine in their struggle.

“They agreed that the UK and French efforts to train and equip Ukrainian troops were making a significant difference in the war and that western war fatigue cannot be allowed to set in. President Macron praised the Prime Minister’s leadership in Ukraine.”

Best Vastu Consultant

If you’re interested in learning more about the benefits of Surrounding Vastu, then you’ve come to the right place. This article will give you information about various aspects of Vastu and how to buy a home with it. In addition, it is always recommended to have Best Vastu Consultant advice before buying any property.

Purchasing a new home is an important decision, and the millennial generation is considering Vastu Shastra principles when buying a new property. This ancient science of architecture has been practiced in India for centuries, and many believe the principles of Vastu will bring new life into a new home. Many real estate developers are promoting this ancient practice and designing homes with Vastu principles in mind. The following are some tips to consider when purchasing real estate.

To avoid causing problems, it’s important to find a house with a north/east facing the entrance. If the entrance of your new home faces the south, you should look for another house with a north-east-facing entrance. Then, you’ll want to check where the toilets and kitchens are located. Keeping these spaces away from the south/west will cause problems with the energy flow, and it will make the homeless prosperous in the long run.

When purchasing a home in Vastu, it’s vital to consider natural light and cross ventilation. The best type of flat is one that faces the north or east. The sun’s early morning light is full of ultraviolet rays, which bring positive energy to the interior. Afternoon sunlight is filled with infrared rays, which are harmful to health. For this reason, south-facing windows must be small and be covered with horizontal shades.

Although Vastu is ancient, there is a scientific explanation for many of its principles. This ancient science provides guidelines for designing a light, well-ventilated, and spacious home. Even apartments can benefit from the Vastu principles. Because of the limited space, apartments should be located in areas with adequate open space. Also, it’s important to consider the location of the building’s entrance. If it faces the south or west, it’s not good for the health.

Also Read, Importance of Vastu Shastra.

When purchasing a new apartment, pay attention to the vast energies of the surrounding environment. A unit with a southeast corner is ideal. A kitchen in the northeast of an apartment is bad Vastu. A kitchen that faces the southeast is in the southeast corner. The living room should be located in the center of the apartment so that the space is bright. Purchasing a new apartment with Vastu principles will help you avoid some of the pitfalls of buying a new home.

Another tip is to avoid houses facing the west or south. These are bad Vastu positions, so make sure you avoid these areas. North and east-facing plots are good but avoid south or west-facing plots. In addition, a home facing the west or south should not be built on a plot that faces the east or west. If you find a plot that doesn’t meet these guidelines, then you will have to make some adjustments to it to avoid potential Vastu problems.

Aditi Shankar’s questions left Karthi stunned, stumped

0

Actor Karthi has disclosed that Aditi Shankar, the daughter of ace director Shankar Shanmugam who makes her debut as an actress with his film, ‘Viruman’, was a down-to-earth, simple person who was full of fun.

Speaking at a press conference called by director Muthiah’s ‘Viruman’ unit, Karthi said, “Aditi beautifully adapted herself to this film. I think it is her upbringing. Despite being so sophisticated and being a doctor, she has this belief that she would give her best to the profession she has chosen.”

Stating that Aditi would behave in the same simple fashion with everybody on sets, without distinction, the actor disclosed that Aditi would keep pulling everybody’s legs.

“During our first meeting at the pooja of the film, when we were hesitant to talk to her thinking that she would speak to us in English, she came and asked in Tamil, ‘Sir, which is the country that has the richest people?’ I immediately went to Google, began searching Wikipedia, and started wondering if I should say it is the nation that has that Sheikh, when she said, ‘Don’t think too much sir. It is a simple question.’ I finally gave up and she said, “Bangla Desh,” she said and explained, “It is a country that has a lot of bungalows.'”

As the audience roared with laughter, Karthi continued, “I was stumped when I heard that answer. Before I could recover, she said, ‘Sir, I have another question.’ I told her that I couldn’t take any more of these questions but she wouldn’t take no for an answer and insisted that I answer just one more question of hers. “Reluctantly, I agreed and she asked, ‘What is the name of the girl who pushed her father?’ I had no clue and I sought comedian Soori’s help. He also began thinking about what the answer could be. After a good 15 minutes, she said, ‘It is Pushpa. It is because the girl Push(es) her pa.'”

On a serious note, the actor said, “I believe that you will also get the same love from the people that they have shown us.”
