The uncertainty around the release of Vijay Deverakonda’s much-awaited film Kingdom continues to grow. Despite two previous postponements, the makers have yet to lock in a final release date, with July 25 and August 1 now emerging as potential options.

Originally slated for May 30, then July 4, the release was delayed due to post-production and strategic timing. Now, the unexpected postponement of Hari Hara Veera Mallu (HHVM) has added another twist. With HHVM eyeing July 24 for release, the Kingdom team finds itself at a crossroads.

Insiders reveal that producer Naga Vamsi is reluctant to enter the July box-office race if Pawan Kalyan’s HHVM locks in the same week. If HHVM confirms July 24, Kingdom might avoid that window entirely. Otherwise, July 25 could still be viable, with Thammudu already clearing the way.

However, even August comes with challenges. With big-budget films like War 2 and Coolie releasing on August 14, Kingdom would get only a two-week theatrical window—far from ideal for a film that needs strong word-of-mouth and sustained momentum.

The delays have already begun to stir negative buzz online. Without a confirmed release date, the makers are also holding back on promotions—critical for boosting pre-release hype.

In a major shift in casting buzz within Telugu cinema, Natural Star Nani is now set to headline Shouryuv’s highly anticipated second directorial venture, which was initially imagined with Jr. NTR in the lead.

According to sources close to the development, Shouryuv, the filmmaker behind the emotionally resonant Hi Nanna, has realigned his vision after Jr NTR reportedly opted out due to his packed lineup through 2029, which includes mega projects like Devara 2, War 2, Made in India (presented by SS Rajamouli), and upcoming films with Prashanth Neel, Nelson, and Trivikram.

Although never officially confirmed, insiders suggest Tarak had given an informal nod to the project, which Shouryuv had been developing over the last 15 months. Set against the backdrop of Hyderabad and other metro cities, the film was described by the director as “1,000 times more intense than Hi Nanna,” merging high emotion with action on a grand scale.

With Jr. NTR gracefully stepping aside, the film now finds a new anchor in Nani, marking a full-circle moment.
