Prime Minister Narendra Modi, paid rich tributes to the country’s first home minister Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel on his death anniversary today. He said that every Indian should be indebted to him for his monumental service to the nation.

Patel, who was also the first deputy Prime Minister of India, died on December 15, 1950, three years after Independence. He was aged 75 at that time. The Prime Minister appealed to the whole nation to remember the great man Sardar Patel on his Punya Thithi.

Modi earlier tweeted the great words about Sardar Patel. We all know Patel as the ‘Iron Man’ of India, Patel was instrumental in uniting the country through the merger of small princely states.

This year we are celebrating the 68th death anniversary of Patel. He was one of the most important political figures of India. He was a great political activist and lawyer.

While Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also paid his tribute to Patel and called him an exceptional leader. He also tweeted, “On Punya Thiti of Lauh Purush, Sardar Ji, and a grateful nation remembers his life and work and pays him respectful tribute. He also told that Patel was an exceptional leader who laid foundations of modern India and places nationalism at its core.

Many another cabinet MP’s and state leaders paid their tributes through social media platform.
