1 lakh pre-orders for new foldables are made by Samsung India, a record
Samsung has announced that its fifth-generation foldable devices have achieved record pre-bookings in India, with over 100,000 consumers pre-booking the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 within the initial 28 hours. This marks a significant increase of 1.7 times in pre-bookings compared to the fourth-generation foldable devices.
Pre-bookings for these devices opened in India on July 27, and they are scheduled to be available for sale starting on August 18. The success of these new foldable devices demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to providing innovative technology solutions that cater to customer needs.
JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, expressed confidence that these new devices will contribute to making foldable smartphones more mainstream and further solidify Samsung’s leadership position in the Indian market. The company aims to achieve a market share of over 50% in the super-premium segment (devices priced at $1,000 and above) with these new foldables.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 starts at Rs 99,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant, while the Galaxy Z Fold5 is priced at Rs 154,999 for the 12GB/256GB variant. Customers pre-booking these devices will receive benefits worth Rs 20,000 for the Galaxy Z Flip5 and benefits worth Rs 23,000 for the Galaxy Z Fold5.
Pre-bookings for the devices are available through various online and offline retail outlets.
