In a report, the ICC stated that it has sanctioned South Africa after match referee Andy Pycroft noticed that they were three overs short of the necessary rate throughout the Test. both South Africa and England went into the game with Seam Bowling options, without a single spinner in each side, that could be the reason for the Over rate.
South Africa are now placed seventh spot in a nine-team table with one win and six losses. They earned 30 points for their win in the first Test against England in Cape Town but their result will now be decreased to 24 after becoming the first team in the competition to have points diminished.
