Students Brawl About Cellphone Leads to a Murder in Katpadi

A student has been reportedly murdered by a student in Katpadi, Tamil Nadu. Santhosh, a native of Vepanthangal village is studying 8th grade at Poigai Government High School. Santhosh did not return home from school on the day of the incident. His parents went to the school and enquired about their son.
The parents came to know that their son was killed in a fight that took place near the school premises. The students in the school informed Santhosh’s parents that Santhosh died of injuries after he was attacked by another student.
The parents immediately rushed to the place where the incident took place. They recovered the body of their son from a nearby drainage channel. The dead body has been taken to the government hospital for post-mortem and a case has been registered.
During the police investigation, it was found that the brawl broke out between the students due to an argument on a cell phone. During the brawl, Santhosh was attacked with a wooden log by the other student. Santhosh’s body was later dumped in a drainage channel. Santhosh succumbed to death due to severe injuries. The police arrested the student who murdered Santhosh and was produced in the court. He is currently in police custody in a juvenile home.
