Suriya’s upcoming film Scene is gearing up for its theatrical release this Friday, and the promotional campaign has already generated considerable buzz. Advance bookings opened last night, with early morning 6 AM shows also available in several locations. Interestingly, the film has recorded an impressive start in ticket sales.
According to the latest booking trends, Scene has sold approximately 7,000 tickets in an hour, while Ramayana managed to sell around 3,000 tickets during the same period. This has come as a surprise, especially considering the scale and expectations surrounding the mythological epic.
However, it is important to note that advance bookings for Scene have only recently opened, whereas Ramayana began accepting bookings nearly two weeks ago. With the release approaching, ticket sales for both films could witness further growth.
Although Ramayana enjoys the advantage of being a massive big-budget spectacle, Suriya’s Scene is also attracting strong attention from moviegoers. The film has the potential to deliver a good box-office performance, but limited screen availability in certain regions could become a challenge.
It will be interesting to see whether Scene can maintain its booking momentum and how both films perform after their theatrical releases.
