Megastar Chiranjeevi’s recently-released film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is wreaking havoc at the box office.
chiranjeevi made his acting comeback after a decade with Khaidi No 150. He took considerable time to finalise his next film and started working on his dream project Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, which hit the theatres on October 2 and is decimating the box office.
It is reported that Chiranjeevi’s mega-budget flick has managed to gross more than Rs 85 crore worldwide in just two days.
The film took a phenomenal start at the theatres and grossed Rs 32 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Due to positive word of mouth the film’s collection saw a huge rise on the second day not just in the Telugu speaking states but also in other parts of South India.
Despite being a Telugu film, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy has managed to do exceptionally well in Tamil Nadu. The Telugu and Tamil version of the period drama has collected Rs 1.61 crore on its first day.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala wrote, “#SyeRaa TN – Day 1 Gross:
Telugu – Rs 1.08 Crs
Tamil – Rs 0.53 Crs
Total – Rs 1.61 Crs (sic)”
In Chennai, the film has earned Rs 14 lakh thus taking the two-day total to Rs 46 lakh in the city. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is facing stiff competition at the box office with Hindi film War and Hollywood flick, Joker.
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy has been receiving positive reviews from critics and audience. Though there are a few flaws in the film, the audience are mesmerised by the story of Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
