Telangana HC Concerned Over POP Idol Immersion:

The Telangana High Court, led by Chief Justice Bench, expressed grave concern on Monday regarding the immersion of Ganesh idols crafted from Plaster of Paris (POP) in Hyderabad’s Hussain Sagar Lake.

The Court has instructed the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police to effectively ban idol immersion in Hussain Sagar and other water bodies. Additionally, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and GHMC have been instructed to submit a compliance report.

Referring to media accounts of POP idols being immersed in Hussain Sagar Lake, Chief Justice Alok Aradhe expressed concern about the lack of action by GHMC and the police. The Chief Justice also requested an explanation for not complying with the court’s directives.
