The Telangana Government is ready for yet another fight with Andhra Pradesh Government. Telangana Irrigation minister Harish Rao said that Telangana deserves 45 TMC from the Pattiseema project.‘We are fighting in the Krishna Tribunal and the Supreme Court for the share of Telangana state. The Andhra Pradesh Government has diverted 100 TMCs of Krishna Waters, in which Telangana should get its due share of 45 TMCs.
Even though we discussed the same with the Centre many times in the past, the results haven’t been fruitful. Our officials spoke to then Central Minister for Irrigation Uma Bharati, and even current Minister Nitin Gadkari. But nothing has been resolved.
We are also parallelly working on other irrigation projects. Nagarjuna Sagar Modernization works are 95% complete. The Telangana Government is committed to releasing the waters through the Nagarjuna Sagar left to Khammam and Nalgonda districts by the next rainy season to every part of the land in the basin.
Telangana topped the World Bank Rankings. The Nagarjuna Sagar Modernization Works are being carried out by World Bank funds only’, said Harish Rao.
