A rogue wild elephant, responsible for the deaths of two farmers within 24 hours, was spotted near Palleprakriti Vanam on the outskirts of Kammargaon village, causing panic among locals. The elephant, suspected to have traveled approximately 20 kilometers overnight, was being tracked by forest beat officers, who anticipated its return to Maharashtra by crossing the Pranahita River at Nandigaon village soon.
Section 144 of CrPC was enforced in Chintalamanepalli, Bejjur, and Penchikalpet mandals as authorities intensified efforts, involving joint teams and drone surveillance, to manage the situation and protect residents.
