Diabetes symptoms can be lowered by weight loss

Dropping weight up to 10 percent can end in the reduction of type 2 diabetes, say researchers. The conclusions issued in the journal ‘Diabetic Medicine’ advised that it is likely to recover from the disease without accelerated lifestyle invasions or extreme calorie limitations.

While type 2 diabetes can be accomplished through a mixture of positive lifestyle changes and medication, it is also likely for the high blood glucose levels that determine diabetes to return to normal – through vital calorie restriction and weight loss. An intense low-calorie diet involving a whole daily consumption of 700 calories for 8 weeks has been linked with a reduction in about nine out of ten people with newly diagnosed diabetes and half of the people with longstanding disease.

Diabetes symptoms can be lowered by weight loss

Nevertheless, there is little data to show whether the same result can be accomplished by people experiencing less intensive invasions, which are more likely and possibly scalable to the broader population. To solve this problem, a unit led by researchers at the University of Cambridge examined data from the Addition-Cambridge case, a considered cohort study of 867 people with recently diagnosed diabetes aged 40 and 69 years selected from common practices in the eastern region.

The researchers determined that 257 participants (30 percent) participants were in a reduction at five-year follow-up. People who managed a weight loss of 10 percent or more within the first five years after diagnosis were more than double as likely to go into remission compared to people who owned the equivalent weight.

“We’ve recognized for some point now that it’s likely to send diabetes into relief using reasonably drastic measures such as accelerated weight loss plans and severe calorie restriction,” said Dr Hajira Dambha-Miller from the Department of Public Health and Primary Care.

“These invasions can be very tough to people and challenging to achieve. But, our conclusions imply that it may be likely to get rid of diabetes, for at least five years, with a more proper weight loss of 10 percent. This will be more motivating and hence more likely for many people,” added Dr Hajira Dambha.

“This bolsters the importance of maintaining one’s weight, which can be managed by modifications in diet and improving physical exercise. Type 2 diabetes, while a chronic condition, can push to significant advancements, but as our study shows, can be managed and even modified,” said the senior author Professor Simon Griffin of the MRC Epidemiology Unit. To simplify the most excellent way to maintain patients with type 2 diabetes achieve sustained weight loss, the team is currently beginning a study called GLoW (Glucose-Lowering through Weight management).

Azam overtakes Virat Kohli, 3rd quickest to 11 ODI hundreds

Babar Azam, who had scored his 11th ODI ton in the second ODI versus Sri Lanka in Karachi on Monday. The first match was wiped out without a ball being bowled at the same venue on Friday.

South Africa’s Hashim Amla continues to be the fastest to 11 ODI hundreds, becoming there in only 64 innings. South African Wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock had produced up his 11th century in solely his 65th innings.

A couple of years ago, former Pakistan coach Arthur had related Babar Azam with Virat Kohli. But in February this year, Arthur admitted he might have taken the gun in bringing that comparison although he continued that Babar Azam would be amongst the prime 5 batsmen in the world very soon.

Azam overtakes Virat Kohli, 3rd quickest to 11 ODI hundreds

“I assume he will be in the top five of the world very shortly across all formats. I believed I was a bit quick off the gun when I told two years before that he would be nearly as great as Virat Kohli but it has earned him a while to show that class,” Arthur was quoted.

“But if you saw him in the nets two years ago, he was a young boy who has turned into a young man, he’s got more powerful and fitter and his game gets more reliable and better all the time,” Arthur had said.

Virat Kohli, 30, is now rated amongst the most exceptional batsmen to have ever played the game. His 43 ODI centuries is second only to Sachin Tendulkar’s 49 hundreds in the format. Besides, Kohli has 25 Test tons and is the only man to average over 50 in all 3 formats in international cricket.

Babar Azam, 24, has secured only 1 hundred in his 21-Test career but averages over 50 in the shorter formats.

Babar Azam also became the fastest to 1000 ODI runs in a season for Pakistan, seizing to the milestone in just 19 innings.

chimpanzee suzi escapes from enclosure in hyderabad zoo ,attacks gardener

Suzi was later tranquilized and taken back into her enclosure.

Mild tension prevailed at the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad after Suzi, a chimpanzee, attempted to escape from her enclosure on Monday and attacked a gardener, who was injured in the scuffle.

Zoo officials said that Suzi escaped from her night enclosure even as maintenance work was being taken up by authorities on the campus. The chimpanzee first encountered a gardener, Yadaiah, working in the primate section, and attacked him. He suffered minor injuries and was administered an anti-rabies injection.

As soon as the incident took place, higher authorities were informed and a veterinary team rushed to the spot. Suzi was tranquilized and taken back into the enclosure.

This is not the first time that Suzi has escaped, as a similar incident took place in 2013. According to media reports, officials said that despite leading a lavish lifestyle at the zoo, Suzi was lonely and thus prone to bouts of anger.

Suzi was the pet of business tycoon and Sahara chairman Subrata Roy and arrived at the Hyderabad zoo from Pune in 2011.

In 2015, a Royal Bengal tiger had escaped from its enclosure as it jumped off a 10 feet deep moat when it was being shifted to another enclosure, creating a scare among hundreds of visitors.

Zoo authorities swung into action to evacuate the premises and closed all the gates. Officials later managed to tranquilise the big cat after an hour-long effort. No one was injured in the incident.

One of the largest zoos in India, the Nehru Zoological Park is spread over 380 acres. On average, several lakh people visit the zoo annually.

OnePlus India Specific OxygenOS Goodies: Manage Your SMS, Smart Gallery and more

0

These updates will be part of the OxygenOS which will be rolled out for all OnePlus devices.

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 7T smartphone late last month, just a few months after the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro earlier in the summer. But it is not only about the hardware and new products. OnePlus is also giving equal attention to the software side of things, particularly features for the OxygenOS. The company has announced a bunch of India-specific features for OnePlus phones.

The first is the Smart SMS manager, quite relevant in these times when spam as well as promotional messages are the order of the day. OnePlus says users can automatically categorize all messages, and perform quick actions, namely copying OTP codes or calling numbers sent in those messages. There is categorization of up to 39 types of messages, including tickets, bills and bank messages.

Then there is the improved Gallery app which sorts your photos into smart albums based on the faces it recognizes in pictures that you may have clicked, according to the location or even time of the day. All this happens on the device itself and OnePlus takes pains to assure that no data is sent to their servers and that a user’s privacy is untouched. There is also the addition of the free cloud storage options for backing up your photos—OnePlus will give 5GB free as the basic tier, though the introductory option does offer 50GB more for the first year.

OxygenOS will now let you assign your apps to Work mode or Life mode, which will automate a series of actions based on the location, Wi-Fi networks you are connected to, and/or a predefined schedule. You will be able to turn off notifications for work apps (including emails and instant messages) after office hours, for instance.

Then there is the new International Roaming Service, which we still have to test, but it does look like a rather interesting proposition. No need to purchase a specific SIM card or worry about data bandwidth and international roaming, access OnePlus Roaming without an internet connection. Let the wanderlust flow.” We await further details on how this works, how can a user sign up for this while traveling and which operators are a part of this service.

Last but not least are the cricket scores on the Shelf. Users can now customize this to add their favorite teams and access the scores quickly by simply swiping right on the home screen.

All these updates will be part of the OxygenOS updates which will be rolled out in the coming weeks, if your phone doesn’t already have them.

Sitharaman Puts Out Appeal and Explainer in Reply to ‘Consume Poison’ Tweet on PMC Bank Crisis

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman urged a Twitter user on Monday to not write of “such extreme things” after the latter tweeted that “people are bound to consume poison” in the aftermath of the restrictions imposed by the Reserve Bank of India on the crisis-hit Punjab & Maharashtra Cooperative Bank (PMC Bank).

The RBI had on September 23 imposed regulatory restrictions on the PMC Bank for six months over alleged financial irregularities. The removal limit for account owners was originally kept at Rs 1,000 per each client for six months, which was next raised to Rs 10,000. The regulator also prevented the cooperative from continuing fresh loans or taking deposits. The limitations had triggered objections by depositors and account owners of the cooperative bank.

To address such concerns, Sitharaman on Monday tweeted a helpline number.

Replying to the tweet, a Twitter user named Rakesh Bhat, who identifies himself as a social activist, demanded a quick resolution, saying “people are bound to consume poison and die”.

In reply, the finance minister sought to calm Bhat down and appeal against posting “extreme” messages. She further clarified that multi-state cooperative institutions do not come under the Ministry of Finance even though they are called banks.

Defined as a multi-state collaborative investment entity organized in 1984 from a modest room in Mumbai, the PMC Bank has grown to 137 branches in Maharashtra (103), Delhi (6), Karnataka (15), Goa (6), Gujarat (5) and Madhya Pradesh (2).

As per the RBI orders, the PMC Bank is debarred for six months from granting or renewing any loans and advances, making any investments, incurring any liability, including borrower of stocks or accept current deposits, etc., without preceding written permission from the RBI.

As per the PMC Bank’s latest annual report, it has deposits of over Rs 11,617 crore and loans/outstandings of Rs 8,383 crore.

Samsung Galaxy Fold price in India, launch event timings, availability
The Samsung Galaxy Fold India launch event will begin at 12pm (noon) IST today. The event will detail the pricing and availability of the foldable phone in the Indian market. We can presume that the phone will not be cheap, and will be sold at select retail outlets only. It should extend the Galaxy Fold Premier Service for its top-tier customers in India as well. This service looks to help you in the event of any mishap with the ‘delicate’ phone, and it includes 24×7 online support and one-on-one interaction with Samsung’s support personnel.

To recall, Samsung unveiled the foldable device at Unpacked 2019 earlier this year, and priced it at $1,980 (roughly Rs. 1,41,300). We can expect the Samsung Galaxy Fold to be at least as much as the US pricing, if not more. The launch was delayed after early reviewers saw their units damaged after peeling off an important film on the display, rendering the phone unusable. The company said that the foldable phone needed more improvement before it is launched commercially. Now, after much delay, the phone is ready for commercial use, and is being launched in varied markets.

In a new video titled, ‘Caring for your Galaxy Fold’, Samsung asserts that the display comes with a protective film, and an additional one is not required. The video says to use a light touch, keep the hinge away from water and dust, and keep valuables like credit cards and keys away from the phone, due to the magnets inside the hinge.

Samsung Galaxy Fold specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Fold comes with one screen in the front, and it opens and shuts like a book to reveal a big screen inside. The phone comes with a wide notch holding two selfie sensors on the inside and a triple rear camera setup that sits at the back. There’s another camera on the front – giving it a total of six cameras.

The Galaxy Fold provides a 7.3-inch display when unfolded with a cutout for the selfie camera, and the resolution is set at 1536×2152 pixels (4.2:3 aspect ratio), whereas the smaller 4.6-inch Super AMOLED panel includes 840×1960 pixels resolution (21:9 aspect ratio). The smartphone includes 12GB of RAM and 512GB of inbuilt storage (UFS 3.0) – there is no storage expandability.

For the imaging needs, the Samsung Galaxy Fold comes with a total of six cameras. Let’s start with the rear cameras: a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, with Dual Pixel AF, OIS, and variable f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture; and finally, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with PDAF, OIS, an f/2.4 aperture, and 2X optical zoom.
