US military assistance to Ukraine amounts to $250 million.
The United States has announced an additional military aid package for Ukraine, valued at $250 million. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed in a statement on Tuesday that this new package encompasses AIM-9M missiles for air defense, munitions for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition, as well as over 3 million rounds of small arms ammunition, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
This assistance is carried out under a prior directive from President Joe Biden, utilizing the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA). The weapons and equipment provided through this method are sourced directly from the Department of Defense’s inventories for Ukraine.
According to the Department of Defense, this marks the 45th PDA-related military aid delivery to Ukraine by the Biden administration since August 2021. Since the outset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in February 2022, the United States has committed over $43.7 billion in military aid to Ukraine, with more than $43 billion allocated during the Biden administration’s tenure.
