Tarana Burke, an American social activist, and community organizer began using the phrase “Me Too” as early as 2006, and the phrase was later popularized by American actress Alyssa Milano, on Twitter in 2017.

Now, it is going viral in India and mostly in the film industry. A few weeks back, actress Thanu Sree put allegations on the actor Nana Patekar. According to her allegations, in the past, they did a movie together and while doing the movie she has faced some sexual assaults from Nana Patekar. So, started from her allegations and now it is converted as a movement in Indian film industry.
