The UP Police creatively tweeted the much-publicized Virat-Gambir face-off during the IPL match in the city earlier this week.

Creating multiple records, UP Police’s tweet ‘Dial 112’, aimed at creating awareness about its emergency services, received the highest number of views among all tweets posted to date.

We don’t have a massive Virat or a severe Gambhir challenge. Dial 112 for any emergency,” UP Police tweeted in Hindi, 1.8 million in a week.

The tweet from the state police, who boast 2.9 million Twitter followers, included a screenshot of the altercation that occurred on the field.

The tweet was followed by another quote tweet from the same handle, which read: “Avoid picking an argument but don’t hesitate to contact us in case of any emergency.
