Gymnast Aruna Reddy Honoured With 2 Cr Prize by KCR Govt

Indian gymnast, hailing from Telangana Aruna Budda Reddy has recently won the bronze medal at the World Gymnastics Tournament in Melbourne, Australia. This is the first time an Indian female athlete has won a medal in gymnasts at the World Gymnastics Tournament. CM KCR invited Aruna Budda Reddy and met her at Pragathi Bhavan.
After felicitating her, on behalf of the Telangana Government, KCR has handed a check of Rs 2 crores, for her achievement at the world stage. At the same time, CM KCR also directed the authorities that Aruna’s coach, Sri Brij Kishore be given some assistance.
CM KCR said, ‘it is really nice to see athletes representing the state of Telangana and the Nation at an international level. Many youngsters should also consider sports as a serious profession. Moreover, we need to train our kids in different kinds of sports, apart from regular sports like Cricket, Football, and other indoor sports.
Even the government is seriously considering the establishment of multiple sports facilities in the state. In addition, Gymnastics and athletics coaches should approach the respective departments in their districts. This will aid the government in taking necessary measures to further encourage kids.’
