Screen-sharing is now available on WhatsApp
WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called screen sharing, aiming to enhance the video calling experience on its platform. This move puts WhatsApp in direct competition with established video conferencing apps like Microsoft Meet, Google Meet, Zoom, and Apple’s FaceTime.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced this new feature in a Facebook post and on his Instagram channel. With screen sharing, WhatsApp users can now share documents, photos, and even their online shopping carts with their contacts during video calls.
To access screen sharing on WhatsApp, users need to tap or click the “Share” icon during a video call. They can then opt to share a specific app or their entire screen. This functionality mirrors the screen-sharing capabilities of common video-conferencing platforms like Google Meet and Zoom.
