Indigo Airlines has been the forefront of the domestic aviation industry in India. The airline has commenced its operation on 4th August 2006. Since then, it has been consistently achieving growth and became the largest airline in India on 17th August 2012 after surpassing Jet Airways.
While this has been the historic past of Indigo, the airlines recently had its black-day after an employee manhandled a passenger at IGI, just after hours PV Sindhu was welcomed with a rude behavior.
Air India has taken this opportunity to criticize Indigo airlines with a double standard tweets. Air India posted its mascot ‘Maharaja’ in a ‘Namaste’ posture, and titled it ‘We only raise hands to say Namaste’. Its next tweet followed the remark ‘Unbeatable Service’ with ‘BEAT’ being highlighted in its post.
The tweet was liked and shared thousands of times by the twitterities. Soon, the same tweets received backlash with people starting to remind the airlines its past events and how its passengers were treated.
Soon the ‘sarcastic’ tweets about Indigo became the subject of discussion and Air India being reminded its past. Following the backlash, the tweets were deleted. Air India later tweeted that it did not post those photos.
Netizens are demanding the Aviation Authority to ban Indigo Airlines.
