Alia Bhatt-starrer Alpha, the first female-led spy action thriller from Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, is now heading to the digital platform after its theatrical run. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film arrived with considerable expectations but failed to make a strong impact at the box office despite its star cast and franchise connection.

The latest update is that Alpha has officially locked its OTT premiere. The film will begin streaming on Netflix from August 28, 2026, in Hindi. As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the availability of dubbed versions.

Alia Bhatt leads the film, with Sharvari playing the other key role. The movie also features notable appearances from Hrithik Roshan, who reprises his popular character Kabir from the Spy Universe. Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor are also part of the cast in important roles.

The film was positioned as a major addition to YRF’s expanding spy franchise, with the female-led narrative and action-heavy presentation generating plenty of curiosity before its release. However, Alpha could not translate those expectations into a successful theatrical run.

Its arrival on Netflix now gives the film another opportunity to connect with audiences. OTT releases often allow movies to reach viewers who may have missed them in theatres, while also giving films a chance to find a wider audience beyond their original theatrical performance.
